I shot these today for the first time out of a TC Icon 24" barrel. 59 gr H4350 50 thou off at 3400 fps.
Same POI as the 130 gr TTSX. They shot like a laser.
Has anyone used these on game? I can't imagine this combination not being effective but tell me your experience.

I would imagine they would be pretty effective. I’ve been toying with the idea of doing the same for my .280. My thinking is it should give very reliable expansion and hopefully closer to cup and core expansion with benefits and penetration of lead free. For guys like me who play 300-350 and under it should flatten things out nicely when using standard duplex crosshairs and not twisting dials.

Can't speak to the 270 but I have used 110 TTSX in my 30BR with MV of 3100 fps. Have only ever recovered one as the typically pass through...but the one I recovered on the far side of a WT back could have been used in one of their adds. Four petals with OD of O.577.

Impressive results out of that Icon!

My experience with the T-TSX above 3,000fps has yielded excellent results on deer. Almost complete weight retention and enough energy transfer for a humane and clean harvest.

Took a 4x4 buck in November using the 80gr T-TSX in my 243. Dropped on the spot, no trouble.

It has replaced the SST as my go-to for the whitetails. Not only for the weight retention and reliable expansion but the monolithic construction gives me the accuracy I crave from a hunting bullet, as seen above! :p

Nice loading!

Sorry no experience with .270 Win 110 TTSX. I do shoot 130 grain TTSX out of my 30-06 at 3270 fps it kills deer really good.
I was thinking abut 120s out of a 7mm rem mag.

nice group!....used the 129gr lrx out of my Sako 270win this year for deer and although had no luck with a shot at a deer, the 129lrx was a laser of death on 2 coyotes...each fell so fast I thought I missed....one at 228 yds and one at 306yds...very accurate load of H4831sc that I had already loaded up for a different 270.

I load the 110 ttsx in .270 for my wifes hunting rifle. I reduce the load for less recoil but they shoot great and she has killed 2 deer with them.

Speed is approximately 2700 fps. (Slow) but the bullets performed great at under 150 yards which is about her longest comfortable shot.

She hasn't shot anything else with them but with a good shot im confident they would perform well on larger animals too.

I have shot the 120’s from a 7mm-08 but never a 7mag. 150’s from a 30-06 but never a 300 mag. Excessive speed from big cases usually doesn’t impress me but I think I’ll give these light TSX’s a try.

On a side note this TC Icon seems to like most of the bullets I’ve tried in it.

While I have never shot any game with them, the 110 TTSX shoots tiny, bughole groups out of my Vanguard 270 Winchester.
Using a good dose of Reloder 19, I reached just over 3400 with them, and about .6 moa average right out past 300M. Dave.

I’ve taken 3 deer with 120gr TTSX out of my 280 Mountain Rifle (22” Barrel). Velocity is up near 3000fps - shot a 12 point buck in an angling-away back/shoulder shot at 90 yds and there was a lot of meat damage in the area.

Should be Higher FPS out of a 280 Remmy - i'm using them out of my Rem M7 7-08 20 " at 3030 fps ! They KILL Good ! RJ

Yes I would expect somewhere around 3200 with the 120’s from the 280Rem. There’s no reason the 280 shouldn’t duplicate the 270 when launching the 110gr TTSX’s. Unfortunately Barnes hasn’t updated their 280Rem data, the 280Improved is up to date, so I suppose some math would get a guy in the ballpark.

Glad to see those bullets get along so well with your rifle Ron :)

I shot lots of small west coast blacktails with them with both 270 and 270 wsm (both using IMR4350 I believe) at ranges from 30 - 350 yards always was impressed with accuracy and performance. Also use the 120 gr TSX in .280 (2900fps with RL 19) and 7-08 (2800 fps with cfe 223).

Shot a quartering away buck behind the last rib at 50 yards with the 120 gr TSX in my .280 and recovered the bullet behind the hide in the far shoulder. Expanded perfectly and still weighed 119.4 grains. Only one I ever recovered.

Have fun and good shooting!
