The 2018 Calgary Easter Gun Show Report

Fair enough. I wish the organizers and participants best of luck. It's a huge task to keep it running.

No doubt a huge task, when you consider they have to know more than a year in advance about the space they're going to be using. I'm thinking of sending them a mixed case of Rolaids and Tylenol.

Was my first time to the show, and was very impressed by the size and the number of sellers. left with two new rifles AG42B & Gewehr 88.

Was it you that got nice ljungman with the Beech stock and stamped not electro-penciled receiver. He had two on the table, one had a painted receiver. I went back later to see if the nice one was still there and it was gone, thanks you saved me some money :-C

yes that was me, cant say that I got a good deal, but it was a good example of a AG42, plus a 1945 one as well. make a good addition to the gun safe, glad to hear that my purchase can save you a few dollars

Saw a P17 marked with the red painted stock the Canadian army to remind them to use only .30-06 for $500 on Friday, I would have picked it up since it was such a good deal but adding another ammo to buy and store seems too much of a chore.

Huge amount of effort goes into putting on a show like that. Kudos to the people who put the work into it. Just think, if they said to heck with it, what would people have to bellyache about?

I say thanks to the sponsoring group. Great show.

Thought the show was as good as any other year. Was more then happy with my find. A 1945 No5Mk1 for $500

Parker Hale peep sight. I originally thought a previous owner added it on but after a little Google fu the serial number is just outside of the Irish contract. It was one of 99 rifles that was contracted to Parker Hale in early 1953. It appears that the peep sight actually belongs to gun, cool.

I seriously doubt that PH5C site was put on at the factory. Maybe. Not only that, the trigger guard/magwell has been altered along with the stock to accept the modified unit.

It is a very nice rifle all the same. If you got it for a decent price, likely much less than it cost to build good for you. If they have been set up properly, ways properly bedded and the bore decent, those units are capable of phenomenal accuracy with the load they like.

some good deals on ammo if you looked hard. Picked up some swiss GP11 for $5 for 10 rounds, 48 rounds of DA 7.62 for $20, 30 rounds of 8mm Lebel for $20

Kudos to those doing all the work behind the scenes....

I was in need of a Williams sight and a set of rare dies and ammo. I found them all, saved around 50% and also found a rifle for a buddy. Great show.

First time through this one. I found it enjoyable. Enough space that I wasn't hearding myself through. Found a few rounds of tracer for decent price. As well some small packs of .223 for 29 cents a round.

Some prices were ridiculous, but that's like everything.

Great show. I was just looking for magazines for Radom ViS. Founded 2, one for 35 bucks and second for 60. Founded Vis , middle war model. Friend bought it for 650 bucks.

was a decent show, saw some old friends, and finally met a few I have talked to for years (Hey Walter)

worth the drive from Edmonton, and got some deals and hard to find items form Edmonton tables Laugh2

was defiantly not as busy this year

A lot of vendors who didn't want to deal packed it all up at the end. Not many guns being sold and carried out as far as I could see. It was a buyers market with the economy being slow, but most vendors didn't think that.
