Nice looking project Ardent. Tell us the story on the wood. Where did you get it? Turned out really nice.

I actually found the wood here, it was an old, very dry (had to address some minor hairline cracking), and straw coloured piece being sold for a pittance and didn't look like much but there seemed a hint of something underneath. It was too small of a piece for most guy's interest here on the board but I figured it might be a good fit for what I had in mind, turned out it is indeed. I have some other chunks of nice walnut I've collected, and they show at least equal promise to this one, one in particular is actually even much, much nicer. That one will be a real head turner. I buy walnut at a specialty flooring warehouse shop in Vancouver when I'm there, if you'd like contact info pm me.

Beautiful work. What's next.?

Well the beautiful piece I mentioned above will be next, and I wish to put some sort of custom mauser into it in a heavy-standard caliber, make an Elk rifle out of her. Might wait awhile though... this took a lot of time I'm awfully short on.
