This rifle was another online “deal”. Originally chambered in 221 Fireball, it shot good but wouldn’t feed or extract.
So it got reamed to 222 Rem Mag. Shoots lights out with RL 7, the 40Vmax at 3900 fps. Needs to get pointed at some fur soon...

Next step: rechamber to 6x47!

Haha....just excited because I just got a Rem 40XB in 6x47. Prepping brass now.

Awesome. Surprisingly Nosler 222 RM brass is available. So off I went with this project. The 6x47 looks cool alright.

I've got a 6x47, cooper, model 21, I thought, I bought it of struff55, not so sure now, very accurate rifle, it punches dime sized 5 shot groups, at 200m, with flat base 60 and 75 gr bullets.
had a .222 mag Sako l46 for a while, 30 plus years ago, struggled with ammo aviability, went back to the vixen .222
Must be a few .222 mags around as brass isn't to bad to find.
I am currently looking/pricing a 5.6x50R barrel for my K95, kissing cousin to the .222 mag

I had a first or second year model 700 BDL in .222 Rem Mag with the 20 inch barrel that Remington started out with. ....One of those which I should never have parted with.
If one is ok with a different head stamp, .204 Ruger brass may be run through the .222 Rem Mag dies to turn out pretty much perfect .222 Rem Mag cartridges.

Nosler 222 Rem Mag brass is at Epps for just over a buck a piece. Seems decent although I have just started using it.
Dies too.

I have a 1967 vintage BDL in 222 RM.
Apparently not many BDL's built compared to ADL's.
Mine has a gloss M8 8x Leupold on it with some oddball rings. Screws are on the underside of the ring, a real PITA to tighten them up.

I have a bag of that brass sitting in my relaoding bench. I will start using it once I have used up all the old Remington brass that I've acquired. I had great results with BLC2 with the last 222 mag that I had and am excited to do load development for the new one this winter. I never tried RL7 but do have some on hand so I'll definitely be trying that now. My guns are L461 actions so they are a touch short for the longer bullets in a 222 mag.
