I arrived at my gun club today to a closed gate... (hmmm.... weird)

and when I open the pistol range door, not a creature was stirring... perfect!!

Just me, my coveted Swiss model 1882 and a box of my finest handloads...

100 grain H&N soft lead wadcutters over 3.3 grains of Trail Boss inside resized full-length 32-20 Starline brass. Haven't chronographed these, but they're in the 950-1000 fps range, and soft enough to shoot all day.

My best group at 25 yards was 1-3/4 inches with the pistol resting on a sandbag... nice! (yes, I know, no photos, no proof... I couldn't be bothered to photograph the target)

Nice gun, I love these old European revolvers, they have some style.

Now to the other thing (somebody will say it soon anyway): I hate to pee on your parade, but check the direction in which you point the muzzle of your revolver, even if you have the range to yourself, better practise good safety habits all the time.

Never even crossed my mind. Your engineering is working...

I get to the range for shooting time (10 am) on Saturdays and have both indoor handgun and outdoor ranges to myself for about 2 hours as a rule, and if not it's usually just one other person. On Sundays you can hardly get a lane

I too love when I get the range to myself....1300 members in good standing, and I'm regularly the only one there....go figure.

I get several trips to the gun range per year and I am the only one there, you need to move to a less populated area. Although it is nice to have company around sometimes to talk to while the barrels cool or to take a rest. As for shooting what looks like an antique, I would shoot that in the backyard range. Sounds like you had some good reloads there, hopefully others can use you reload data and get similar results.

I guess I have it lucky at my range. I usually only share the rifle with at most three other people, and the 50 m pistol range I have to myself 75% of the time. That's a beautiful pistol in great shape.

Such a nice gun and no one there to see it, on the other hand you don't have any loud noises to make you flinch so all in all it sounds like a good day at the range.

I used to get a bay to my self with no one on the other bays on Monday mornings - back then the club had 800 members, now it's over 4,000 members and you have a hard time getting a bay any time. I'd still rather shoot in an IPSC bay than on a square range.
