It's running, shoots like a wand off hand. Plenty of tight detail work to do, I slimmed the stock by a further 1/4" full length since last posting after deciding it wasn't what I wanted, and the frame / action has been flycut / slimmed an 1/8" to make the slimmest, trimmest little .275 rimmed No.1 possible. It shoots 7x57R and standard 7x57 interchangeably, and ejects both. Pretty pleased, you'll note a lack of depth and colour to the grain, that's due to only a single speedy swipe of tung oil to be ready for Moose season.

Thanks Jon, I did a thread awhile back a little earlier into it's progression. It's a dodecagon / 12 sided tapered barrel with flute cut on every second point on the exposed barrel in front of the fore end. Wood is exhibition feather crotch black walnut, I wanted to make a slimmest, handiest stalking rifle on the No.1 possible. A noted member here did a recessed / inletted safety on it when he owned the frame before me as a 7mm Mag that is just beautiful. It's a nice little package, 7x57R with 20" long 1:8" twist for 175gr Barnes. That's your NECG rear sight on there!

Other specs, barrel is by Mcgowen, fitted by Rocky Mountain Rifles, who did the fluting for me as well. Been working on it in camp evenings for months now, slow pace.

Very nice!!! Any chance of another picture without the grass background? Having trouble seeing the details...

Edited...you beat me to it :)

Hope you don't mind I now credit you as the safety maker now that you're here- absolutely beautiful work you did. I haven't got the take down figured as I steamed in the inletting and didn't need the aluminum shoe, but it's still tempting to do an elongated stock screw with a cam lock or quarter turn set up of some sort to pull the butt. It would look like a briefcase done right, with such a short barrel on a No.1.

I will checker for sure, but after hunting season, probably this winter to whittle away the camp evenings.

If I were to be shot, I want it to be by that gun.

Fine, well put compliment ha!

What a lucky moose to eventually get shot by such a rifle. Very beautiful rifle, and I can imagine it handles as well as you say with that shorter stock. I'd certainly have a smile on my face carrying it around the bush where it belongs.
