Some pics of a 1916 vintage Winchester 1894 RB .30 WCF rifle I inherited from an uncle many years ago. Just recently got around to taking some new pics of it:

When I received it noted it had long ago been shortened from the factory 26" barrel to 21" and had vintage D.W. King [patent date Mar 1907] installed. My uncle had received it as is, circa 1950's. Someone sure must've wanted a 'carbine' back in the day, to go to all that trouble!

That one looks pretty good, similar to my Sask diamond jubilee. Most of the commeratives are a bit too....flashy for my tastes though.

Mine had been fired when I bought it. Have original box but it's a bit ratty. Owned for many years. Didn't pay anything close to what commemoratives asking prices are now. I went over the plated parts with Autosol metal polish a few years back, so the matte finish shined up a bit.

I like the fact that it's a factory 16" barrel SRC with no later safety gizmos.

I'd love to be in the 30-30 club but you think I can find a winchester 94 in good/great shape pre safety but no stamped lifter for a fair price? Not yet....

That's a very good idea. Had a 1967 Centennial Commemerative full length rifle.
Summer of 2005, with weekend use of two months outdoor rifle range, that stamped shell lifter broke.
Sad thing is, that long barrel & full length magazine, felt like a target rifle from offhand firing position.
That cheesy part knocked it off its high pedastal.

Old pic taken at the hunting camp (Coe Hill, Ont) years ago.
Mini 14 ( no longer with me )
Winchester 94 ( legacy from late father in law) complete with surface rust on barrel.

Just added a couple Remington 788's to my hunting collection the last few months.
30-30 and 44 Rem Magnum
They will be my hunting rifles this year. I've owned many 788s over the years and our family had a whole fleet of them growing up as Moose, Deer, Elk, etc hunting rifles. dad bought 5 of them for $129 bucks way back when.
I decided I'm going back to the old school away from plastic stocks.
Both extremely rare.
