The 30-30 club, are you in?

Have a model 94 , 30 30. Father in law has a pre 64 which i hope he gives to one of my boys. And i am in the market for a Henry ,octagon barrel for my oldest son. He and i both are nutz about the Henry. Funny thing i just found out 3 weeks ago he loves them as much as me!
We have never discussed the Henry. I guess we share good taste! If i could figure out how to post a new topic, it would be about the Henry 30 30 and what everyone thinks( owners and users of)

Just below the banner ads at the top of the hunting and sporting arms page, on the left, there is a blue button "start new topic" . Click that and you're in business.

Reworked Remlin 336SS.
2017 vintage.
WWG trigger and ejector.
Brownells cowboy action spring kit.
Several hours of honing, smoothing and polishing of internals and rounding off knife sharp edges on finger lever and receiver.

I picked up an H&R single shot in 30-30 earlier this year. Got a great deal on it off the EE. I haven't really shot it much yet, but I guess I'm in

I have an H&R 30-30 handi-rifle as well. Had it for a while but hadn't really shot it too much but took it out yesterday and got the scope sighted in and it is shooting fine. I'm going to use it this year to fill my antlerless WT tag.

Speaking of Handi Rifles in .30/30... here is a Swap Barrel Combo set that I made in .30-30 & 7.62X39;

I have a pre64 (around 1955) model 1894 30-30. Bought it 6 yrs ago in good shape for a real good price. Likely never get rid of it. I did own for a few years a Marlin model 336 30-30 back in the early 90's. Sold it after a couple of years as I hardly ever used it. I wish I hadn't. I like the Marlin a little better because one could scope it. I might get another one day, down the road.

I have 2 30-30's
#1 is an H&R 30-30/20 Gauge Combo; Never to be sold, Birds or Moose or Deer this rifle does it all.
#2 is a Marlin 336RC in 30-30; This is a really nice carrying gun.
#3 is WINCHESTER MODEL 94 CARBINE.
I LOVE ALL 3 SOMETIMES HARD TO DECIDE WHICH ONE TO USE
OLD TIMER 77

My lone .30-30 is under a 16 ga. barrel on this J. P. Sauer & Sohn Model 54 Bockbuschflinte (BBF). Made in 1959 in Eckernforde in former West Germany. It has a front set trigger for the rifle barrel (it is set by pushing trigger forward) while the rear trigger fires the shotgun. The locks are on the trigger plate (Blitz action) and the barrel has double lugs with a Kersten cross bolt. The folding rear leaf sight is non-adjustable, but puts all weights of bullets I've tested where I aim at 50 yards.

Took my Marlin 336 [JM stamped] in 30-30 Whitetail hunting this fall.
It definitely did not disappoint! :) 170 Hornady FP, chased by 36.5
grains of Leverevolution. One shot at 75 M, DRT.

Bullet entered high in the lungs, and passed through. Not much meat loss,
but very effective. This load shoots 1 moa to 1¼ moa in this rifle. Dave.

I had a beautiful pre 64 win 94 in 30-30 but passed it on as the iron sights didn’t work for me and I wasn’t going to put holes in it for a scope. I am really liking the savage 99’s and will hopefully add a 30-30 in the future.

Had a Marlin years ago... bought a fairly worn 64 (apparently 1964 manufacture, but the screws show post 64 configuration) for $450 today off of here. I not sure it is a good deal or not yet, haven't had a chance to look down the bore.

Always wanted a winchester for deer hunting in the thick brush around here.

I already want another one... yeesh! I need to make more money!!

Never mind... paid way too much :(

Guess I'll keep an eye out for a pre 64 now to sooth my hurt gun feelings
