The 30-30 club, are you in?

I've got a couple 30-30s in 94s, and had a couple more. I'm not a fan of the cartridge, but do manage to shoot a ridiculous amount of cast bullets through them on occasion. I don't think that makes me a fan, since beyond playing I really don't think they're good for much. I just like to sometimes play with the rifle types I grew up with.

I have an older marlin 336 in 30-30 and a pre 64 model 94. I also have a 94 in .32 win special if that counts at all. It's darn near a 30-30. Anybody try the hornady leverlution pointy ammo in their 30-30's?

Recently bought my first 30-30 model 94AE trails end with a williams peep sight on th EE. Always take it out with my 375 win. And one day soon its going to be a trio when I buy a 32 Spl.

Hunted and harvested bears for a couple of years with a Marlin 336 in 30/30... I ended up donating that rifle to a new hunter...I do plan on buying another some day...

have many winch 94's, mostly pacific coast rangers.....bought them when no one was very interested. vancouver city 94's....1940's vintage and the usual 94's.

i have a model 94 in the cabnet, that probly has not seen light in about 20 years..
but i loaded up a few hundred rounds to let the grandkids and any one else thats wants to try it the next time we head up to our camp:)

Mine is a 30-30 model 94 Winchester, that I inherited from my ex father in laws collection...I rescued from consignment at a local gun shop as soon as I found out it was available.

Lucky for me no one wanted to buy it as there was a 6 month wait due to needing the provincial firearms officers permission to transfer ownership due to it being an estate transfer.

Even though it's a 1966, it's still a nice Carbine IMHO. I just keep replacing the cheap pot metal post 64 parts with any pre 64 parts I find that will fit.

I suspect that some where along the line someone replaced the barrel with a new one, as the bluing does not match what is on the receiver, and the barrel is in really good shape.

A while back some generous gun nut sent me a front hood for my sight for free. :)

I've since added a Williams peep site to the back which has made this a very versatile carbine in my humble collection. Like a good dog it just wants to go with me into the woods all the time. Such a nice handling carbine. :)

Anyway that's my 30/30 story.

I'm in...1951 Mod 94 Winchester 30-30 which I inherited from my father in 1998. He was the original owner.

(1) - Pre 64 Win 94 30-30

(1) - T/C Contender Carbine bought as a 30-30 now rechambered to a 308 Bellm which is a 444 Marlin necked down with 308 Win dies and loaded to 300 Savage velocities.

30.-30 Marlin here. Bought it for the price ($150) of a re-bueing at my local gunsmiths shop when the original owner never came back to pay for it. I love that little thing. It has a cute l'il low-powered scope on it for dirty bush hunting....
Woulda been cuter if I'd actually ever shot a deer with it. But just the fact that it's made my life easier whilst carrying it through the woods merits a mention here....

I've got two Marlin 30-30's. Both bought used for less than $250.00 and both great shooters. I put a 4x Weaver scope on the old one and a 2.5X Scopchief on the newer one. The older beat up one has become my goto gun. I might pick up a Winchester someday if the right one comes along.

I just got back into the club. Sold my 94 a few years ago. Just picked up a Marlin Glenfield 36g at the Kamloops show. Cheaper version of the 336 but from what I can see everything is identical except for the Beech stocks and the cheap rear sight. Just got the better 336 sight in from Western Gun Parts and a screw that was missing on the trigger sled. The barrel looks good and the gun is in great condition. When I get another butt plate for it I will take it out and shoot it. I much prefer the Marlins to the Winnies and I prefer the curved pistol grip. Drilled and tapped for a scope too. Will serve as backup to my Savage 99c 308 lever action. Both sweet rides and flawless actions. The clip in the 99c is a real bonus and it makes an absolutely perfect truck gun.
