How long will the Crossfire last on an eight pound 300 Winchester Magnum? It comes from the factory, packaged with the rifle.

Tempted to buy it, just to find out.

A not-too-serious study in marketing.

Here's your peace of mind,

Our VIP warranty is about you, not us. It's about taking care of you after the sale.

VIP stands for a Very Important Promise to you, our customer. We will repair or replace your Vortex product in the event it becomes damaged or defective—at no charge to you. If we cannot repair your product, we will replace it with a product in perfect working order of equal or better physical condition.

You see, it doesn't matter how it happened, whose fault it was, or where you purchased it. You can count on the VIP Warranty for all Vortex Optics riflescopes, prism scopes, red dots, rangefinders, binoculars, spotting scopes, tripods, and monoculars.

Unlimited Lifetime Warranty
Fully transferable
No warranty card to fill out
No receipt needed to hang on to
If you ever have a problem, no matter the cause, we promise to take care of you.

Well, my Diamondback that Vortex replaced after it died on my 375 Ruger did last on my 375 H&H Improved until I took it off to sell it to my buddy for his 30-06. My guess is your Vortex will be fine on a 300WM.

I much prefer "the warranty you never need" on good products over "most of our stuff breaks so we don't ask any questions" any day. I've bought enough apples off the Vortex cart that I would not consider any of there products below the Viper line.

Yes, but that warranty won't help much if the failure occurs on a hunt, several hundred miles or days away from the post office or sportring goods store. This is true of any warranty, but and it seems there are many, many stories, too many of the warranty being needed.

Good to hear. The Crossfire, however, is the entry-level scope. How well it performs is what I am interested in finding out.

Okay, so this little venture is to try out a scope that costs many hundreds of dollars less.

Thanks to all of you for your replies.

It might last forever or it might crap out quickly.

After sending it in for warranty enough times you will get frustrated.

I think the Vortex QC program is the warranty.
