the 308 type 81?

Wondering if it's possible to have a company import this. Maybe Tactical Imports? I can't see why it wouldn't be classified as NR under the FRT as the 7.62x39 type 81 is already NR. I attached a pic of it. Any thoughts?

Would there be any way for someone to convert an existing Type 81 to .308 with a re-barreling? Someone has already re-barreled an LMG with a Grendel using a Ruger Ranch as a donor for the barrel.

No. Well, actually yes, but that would be monumentally stupid. Hogging out the various parts to work with .308 Winchester would severely weaken the gun and it would be liable to explode catastrophically because it was never designed with those forces in mind. 6.5 Grendel and 7.62x39 share the same case head and are the same size, and any gun chambered for one should be adequate to chamber for the other.
