I don't know if you have tried them or if your rifle likes them, but I had amazing kills with the 270 TSX on everything from 100 lb impala to 3 ton bull hippo. A little better velocities than the 300's and devastating performance. This was the first time I tried TSX in anything, used the TTSX a bit before in 30 cal but was skeptical how they might perform on lighter game in the 375, and I can tell you it was impressive. These bullets get my wholehearted endorsement.
Again just my experience and opinion.

the biggest advantage of the .375 ruger over the .375h&h is that you don't have to buy it in some goofy old safari rifle that weighs 10 pounds, people wan't low cost small,light,synthetic stocked rifles nowadays and that is exactly what ruger and now savage have brought to the table, so unless companies start making those guns in 375hh (which they won't because they will make them in .375 ruger instead) none of the young guys will wan't to buy them.
 
I havent tried barnes yet in any caliber,I have about a 100 to burn in 300 wm,the hornady ibs were working nice in my other rifles.Thanks for advice Doug, been itching to try em.

The H+H went through that phase some years ago but most deemed it impracticle to put a 4500 ft lb energy rifle in a 6 lb platform or even 7 lb. Like the song says "it's all been done before" If you think there are no light H+H's available, check out the 700 XCR I think it is.
 
I wish people would try to keep up. The reasons why the Ruger is the New King have been listed over and over on CGN. The new king is a winner. Every king gets replaced at some point, and the H&H's reign is over.
 
the h&h is still good, and will be a classic for many years to come, the differences are similar to a .300wm and .300wsm, both work great and will be around for a long time but sometimes people wan't something new and a little extra performance can be squeezed out.
 
After buying several Ruger rifles over the last four or more years and playing with three 375 Rugers, I have to say that I would like to see the 375 Ruger chambered in a better quality rifle like a Tikka or Sako.
With the exception of a couple rifles every Ruger Hawkeye purchased has suffered from some annoying glitch ranging from poor stock fitting, poorly fitted recoil pads, scratches on the bolt, inside the magazine, etc.
I'm beginning to wonder if the Ruger factory actually has a Quality Control person....

I've only actually had one Ruger 77 and it was in 458 WM. From good close looks at it and also as far as its functioning is concerned, the quality of that one was excellant.

I have since replaced the Ruger with a Winchester model Super Express in 458 WM and I'd say the Ruger I had was on a quality par with the model 70.

For the $1800 price tag of the Sako, I'd rather get the Ruger and add a Macmillan stock, bed it and get the trigger smoothed out. Of course, I did just that, and I am still ahead by a few hundred bucks;)

Nice....Ruger is always coming up with innovations, like having two places to hang your sling on the front. You can use the stud in the stock or the one on the barrel, you never find options like this on euro guns. :bump:
