The 38-45 Clerke???

One club member at Calgary had a barrel for this (actually done by Bo Clerke in the mid 1970s) and used it a few times for matches. Like any bottleneck cartridge it feeds perfectly, but he felt it was a terrific PIA to load, so quit using it. Basically another "not needed" solution.

I had one back in the 80's. Fed fine, basically a 45 ACP necked down to take 38 Super bullets. Faster then the Super with like weighted bullets. Not much use for it now, but it came close to 357 velocities from an autoloader before the Coonan or DE came along. - dan


I also had one back in the late '80's - along with a 9x23 Dillon. don't miss the .38/45 but I sure wish I had that Dillon back as it was hell on big racoons and coyotes...
