The 6.5 mania continues

A gun smith that was from Montana thats was working in regina a for a few years built something similar. To that about 2 years ago off a 375 ruger necked down to 6.5, can't remember how fast it was though. Alot of work to make brass though.

There was a gunsmith in Regina in the '70s by the name of Gwynne who made a lot of wildcats based on the 404 Jeffery case.
My late Brother had one called a 350/404 that was a really good shooter, hit really hard at both ends....

Speaking of 6.5mm chamberings, wouldn't a CZ 527 with a factory McMillan Edge or Brown Pounder in 6.5mm Grendel be cool?

I built a few 6.5 - 300 Weatherby's back in the late 60's, early 70's. They really performed with a 28 inch barrel... I did a few 264 rechamberings as well. I imagine Nosler's 'new' cartridge will do the same... 40 years later...

The key to these much over bore cartridges is get a long barrel... if you are staying with a 26 inch you may as well stay with a .264 Win Mag. It works great too.

two factory ammo offerings for 2014, a 129gr ABLR and a 130gr AB. MSRP on loaded ammo $60 a box. Component brass available as well

Nosler to chamber it in their rifles and 2 major manufacturers chambering for 2014. Nosler rep would not say who, said he'd lose his job :D Remington said they're not chambering

The new King?

No, but it will be the basis for the new king. I will neck it up to 375, rename it the "375 Andy" and dethrone the 375 Ruger. I have done this already by necking up a 270 Winchester to 30 cal, and made the 30-06 redundant.

I know Gwynne very well. One of my friends had one of his 35-404 also get knock down power. My uncle also has his 35-8mm rem mag (358STA) also a good round. I just got a 375 ultramag built because its easier to get brass.

Laugh2........What does the Wagner have to say about this?

Talk about a barrel burner, at 3400 fps you better have some $$$$ or a stock pile of barrels, cause you'll be needing them!

No worse a barrel burner than all the other wildcats that have been based on cases like the 340WTHBY 404, 416, 375, 378WTHBY, etc, etc, etc......:>)
Another case of someone designing something to sell to someone who thinks they need it!!LOL!

It depends what you are using it for. My hunting rifles in 7mmstw drive a 140gr bullet at 3500fps, and I have fired around 1500 rounds through one barrel, before replacing it. Shooting a few hundred rounds a year, that is still five years of shooting.
