this is the 20/21 setup for no.4 actions (mostly seen on the supreme no.4 and de-luxe no.4)
that were D&T for the front base block, takes high rings for scope to clear the rear aperature, you will see some with aperature filed off to allow for low rings

small block is the 20 , rear that replaces the military sight is a 21, RAHS3 rings

this is the A29 specifically for the rare custom no.4, takes low rings

** the side mounts for the custom 1 and 4 were actually a bit flimsy and I think would probally not hold zero if knocked around much,
the 20/21 set up on the other hand is rock solid and the best of the lot in my opinion**

I think I have a Supreme #1 variant with whiteline spacers and forearm cap.
Stock design is very close to the M-700 Remington BDL.

Make a Parker Hale sticky so we can all learn about the 303 converts. I say that as even the CFC has no clue as to the models and the possible variants.

That's a neat idea. I'll post some pictures of my mint Standard No4 tonight on here hopefully. From what I've seen most of the higher end conversions were at least semi custom. There are pieces from different variants on each seams like. I love mine, best shooting rifle I own. Its only ever had about 60 rnds through it in the 35 years it has been in the family.

My experience....

Parker hale No 4 Supreme (Ex Maltby No4Mk1 1942) Shot very well but was not so pretty...

Parker Hale No 4 supreme (Maltby No 4 mk1 194? convert to No4Mk1/3) Pretty wood very good shooter.

Top rifle is short in the butt length (Cut) was like that when I got it... Front sight hood if not correct. but good shooter

Bottom has correct front sight hood.

I might add the bottom rifle has a No1MkIII* mag, it would not load well with a No 4 mag,...go figure

Some Parker Hale 303 converts have the "Parker Hale, Birmingham, England" roll stamped into the barrel (Custom No 4,. Custom No 1). Parker Hale never made 303 barrels............Ever......... re ground, cleaned up, re blued, roll stamped, etc yes..

A Parker Hale 303 Sporter will have the following

Parker Hale marked front sight
PH will be stamped (often but not always) under the bolt handle on the receiver... pict to follow.

All makes and mods were used to make PH 303 convert..

Lithgow convert No1 Supreme

Here it is. 1944 Maltby. Rifle itself has a few interesting points, The date is followed by an A. The No4 Mk1 on the reciever is marked No4 Mk1* even though this rifle is clearly not a Mk1*.

This rifle was purchased by my dad in the summer of 1974 at Oakford's General Store in Hythe, Alberta for $34. Dad took it out and shot two shots through it using the battle sight, missed both shots and decided it was junk and it sat in his gun cabinet until last summer when he handed it down to me. It is exactly as it came from Parker-Hale. It has never even had the wood oiled again since it left the factory until this year. I've put probably 60 rnds through it and it is an amazing shooter. Very very proud of this rifle.

I remember seeing those ads for Parker Hale rifles in the Eatons catalogue.Sometime in the early 70's I bought one with a Scopechief for $69 from Sears.Of course-no hardware store worth the name wouldn't stock fishing gear, ammunition and have at least a few rifles on a rack.Well worth the short detour on the way home from school just to look at them. Most of those little one man hardware and sporting goods stores are gone now-I remember when that one closed down,he said the big retailer that moved in was selling ammunition cheaper than he was buying it for.

I have a De-Luxe #4 with the (I think) T-01 Weaver scope mount.
I'll try and take some pics this weekend.

Really nice guns guys.
