The 760/7600 Club

Yup that a nice looking 760 for sure, dont let it get away. Ontario bush for moose/deer/bear is where that thing shines, light, handy and quick shooting with quick follow up shots. At one point almost are entire hunt camp carried or owned 760/7600's. Ive seen a lot of bear/deer/moose taken with one
 
I have been hunting for 10+ years for moose and deer in the North Bay area of Ontario, thick bush. Most of the guys that I hunt with use 7400/742, BLR, Win 30-30 or Marlin 336/1895. Me personally I have owned one version of each of these at one time or another, but like most here I am a gun whore and have bought and sold to fund other things.

I think the only other rifle that would be perfect for this task is the Browning BLR in .308 which I owned and liked but something always felt missing with it.

I need to hear more personal stories of guys that have hunted with a 760 or 7600 for years and have put meat on the table with it.
 
That's a very nice specimen, for sure. I bet they want a premium for it...

Just for argument's sake: Unless it's priced well below market value, I'd probably pass on it and get a cheaper well-used 760/7600. You won't know if you like the ergonomics until you try it, and if you don't love it you'll probably lose money reselling it.

They're extremely common rifles, and nice ones do come up pretty regularly.

I have a 7400 and a 7600, both carbines in 30-06 and couldn’t be happier with both for deer. Would be ok for moose as well but seeing I’m also a gun whore, I have a 300 win mag for moose. Our group has switched to archery for moose the last 8 years for better tag allocation reasons.

I noticed the new resurrected Remington company, RemArms LLC has said they’ll be producing new rifles so will be looking out for a new 7600 carbine in the future.

I called Gravel Agency and asked what they knew and they have lots of Remington orders from Canadian gun dealers but no news from RemArms about delivery’s unfortunately. RemArms did have the 7600 Carbine on their website and eluded it was in production but it’s not on their updated website anymore. Hard to figure out what their up to or if anything is in production yet.

The Remington ammo company is a totally different company and has no relationship with RemArms LLC and is back in production so that’s a great thing.
 
Up until about a year or two ago my local Canadian Tire had about 3 new 7600s in stock. They sat there for a while too. Two 30-06 and one 270 if I remember. One was a carbine too. Not my calibers, but I was always surprised how long they sat there for. Gone now though, so they followed someone home.

This rifle already belongs to me, I acquired it about a year ago and it has never been fired.
 
I have a Williams receiver (peep) sight for a 760. I do not know if it will fit a 7600, but there are probably people here who will know. Anyways, I would be happy to sell this sight if it fits your 7600.

Unfortunately it won't Doug, 7600's have a longer slope at the rear of the recieved. Epps likely has one though.

$600 or less shipped if it's mint and made in the 80's early 90's before the raised comb stocks.

The ones from about 2010 to bankruptcy date I wouldn't give the sweat off my bag for em. Had a few of them I worked on and they're just cheap inside and out.
