The 760/7600 Club

Got a sling question for the 7600. The new ones have no sling mounts so the 2 options are a barrel band mount forward of the forestock or a mount on the front end of the forestock. Those that have tried the forestock mount, what is your opinion on these?

Yup, same as any 760. If I had one, I'd shoot heavy bullets in it.

Some of those Woodleigh 180 grain Soft Nose .277 cal bullets should do nicely! ;)

Hey, if Karamojo Bell shot elephants with his 7 x 57 and 173 grain bullets, why not!

And yes SC I agree, they all shoot well, carbines and rifles alike.

The fore stock mounted sling works fine but does tend to chip the finish on the end of the fore stock.

I thought I better ad my 7600's to the mix. The bottom one is in .30-06, I believe it's DOM is 1993. The bluing and wood is beautiful compared to the newer one above in .243.

Shoots well, but man is that recoil sharp.

like you i want to hear the story.

Its been over a year now, and I haven't had any further communication from him on the project but at one point Ted was looking to build one and I have been trying to find him a suitable donor. I thought I found him one but the girlfriend laid claim to it so the hunt continues. I messaged Ted earlier in June to see if he'd progressed further along but didn't get a response.
