Which one is the real one (best book) the one by Bill Chevalier or the other by Dean Grennell . Can you suggest other titles? Thanks.

If you are to reload HG ammo only - I'd recommend "Pistol & Revolver Handbook" by Lyman, I got the Third Edition. First 100+ pages cover the "abc", basics and principles; a few pointers; including casting your own bullets. Very good book and was US$15 new.

Isn't the one by Dean Grennell the older one ?? The one by Bill Chevalier is the latest edition, which is the 8th edition.

I cannot tell you which one is better since i only have read the 8th. ed.

Amazon. ca has the 8th for $17.33.

I have one of the Grennell editions and found it to be very informative. Hopefully the newer ones are just as good but I've only read the one.

I would just get the latest edition to start with, it might cover some of the newer powders or equipment that didn't exist for the earlier editions.

I bought the ABC's of reloding, 8th Edition from Le Baron last month.

Price printed on the back says $24.99 CAD, but I only paid IIRC around $16.00 or $17.00.

I just ordered the 8th edition from amazon.ca. The funny thing is they have the 7th edition for $218. Not sure what that is all about????

i got the 8th edition from amazon
it's less than 20$ and qualifies for super saver free shipping
so if you have another book in mind as well you could buy it from amazon for really cheap

They only had three left when I ordered. I wonder if you were to order one now if it would say they are sold out?? lol.

Well the used ones were 30 some bucks. I will study the one I have coming then sell it for twice what I paid. Sounds good lol.

I got mine today too. Skimmed through it before work and I think I was money well spent. Gave me some insite before I go spend the cash.

Worst book ever written on the subject. If I ever get my stuff out of storage this summer, I will offer it for free. Better to get a Lyman + one other manual. At least you will get good information and load data.

Wow - someone else.

I found there to be perhaps 6 pages of useful information in this book. Nothing that wasn't already covered in my reloading manuals. Some chapters were just like "WTF"?

Precision Shooting Reloading Guide was much better, although the author does put a bit of a personal slant on certain topics.

Meh, if it does it for you, that's good I guess. Personally, I regret buying it.

I'm new to reloading so I hope I didn't make a bad choice althought I paid only $17 for it and the DVD's I ordered with the book are the main purchase.

Well now that I have bought Sierra's manual, I have to agree a bit with Looch and Barfly. I would not say the ABC's one is garbage, since I had zero reloading knowledge it did help, but I have only just started reading the Sierra one, and i like it much better already.

I also like the fact that the Sierra one is in a binder, so I can take the sheets out and photo copy and laminate some of the Data sheets that I am using and not worry about buggering up the book.
