The all new Famae flat top.

Looking to adjust the trigger. How do I remove the trigger spring so I can then remove the grip?
Also are the rail hex screws in mm? I am looking to put lock Tite on the rail screws. They are really tight and I am afraid tr strip the head.

To remove the Trigger Return Spring, you simply take a screwdriver or some such and push it to either side so that the back end pops out of its detent in the rear vertical wall of the Lower Receiver. The spring just pops in and out under spring tension. Once you remove the Trigger Spring on its Guide, you will have free access to the Grip Screw. Keep downwards tension on the Pistol Grip while turning the Grip Screw, otherwise the Nut inside the Pistol Grip will slip out of its detent and the Grip will never come off.

What you need to do is turn the Nut on the threaded Trigger Plunger such that the back of the Trigger just makes contact with the Plunger as the Trigger Breaks. The idea is to elminate different Trigger Pull weights between first finger pressure and the Hammer releasing. Adjusting the Nut changes the position at which the Hammer releases in relation to the Trigger engaging the spring-loaded Trigger Plunger. You want to hit the extra tension of the Trigger pushing against the Trigger Plunger just as the Hammer is released by the Trigger press. That way, there is one Trigger pressure during Trigger take-up, and then another (heavier) pressure just as the Trigger breaks and the Hammer falls. Turning the Nut on the Trigger Plunger will move the Plunger face closer or farther away from the rear face of the Trigger.

Best of luck with tuning your Trigger! Why this isn't done at the factory, is beyond me. Most owners of the SG 54X series of rifles don't even know that the triggers are tunable, let alone know how to tune them properly. As a result, most ignorant 54X owners whine about the inconsistent Trigger pull, not understanding that they themselves can resolve the issue!

Thanks for the info! It’s not even close to being tuned. Can’t believe they don’t even try to get it right at factory. And the short hand guards… hope the metal and machining is as good as the design.

You guys need to work on your logistics here for real lmao.

Ordered a SG542 with mags a few weeks ago.
Order was delivered complete after a week.
Then I got an email from customer service offering to refund the magazines due to low stock. I let them know it was an error.

Anyway, I ordered a bipod separately and it was also shipped after about a week. But, guess what? They reprinted my initial shipping label and sent me ANOTHER SG542. So, I have two chilling in my safe now.

Gotta work on the logistics guys...

Mr.lucky over here.... Obviously you're an honest person and will return the 2nd rifle (or why would you of posted) , but I hope TI hooks you up... You should get a dozen free mags for returning the rifle.. an offer of goodwill. (good will works both ways!)

I don’t know what’s been going on with their shipping.

I placed two orders after my rifle:

One order for a bipod and two 540 mags.

Another order for 4 540 mags.

In two weeks I’ve received a bipod.

I’ve since wanted to order a 542 but am holding off until things get sorted out.

SHHH - don't let the liberals know..... That frenchie journalist will take an angle grinder and mod it to 30, and we'll be sunk!

If they can mod a 5/20 round magazine to a 30 then I shall call them a member of the gun god pantheon and see what other miracles they can accomplish!

But yah, screw that guy

Hoping to score a LMG for half price. With a drum mag! Lol.

I've ordered mine weeks ago and just told they have to modify the packaging with no further details.

not gonna lie I'll be pissed if making me wait over something stupid as packaging and they steal my mags for other sales.

I wasn't greedy only got 3 extra with the gun.
