I found it interesting to peruse the equipment lists from the FCSA World Championships this year.

Of 153 guns recorded in five classes: 105 used Nightforce (67%)
30 were Leupold (20%)
13 Sightrons (8%)
4 March
1 USO

-Now of course, some guns may have been used in more than one class, so not sure what that means statistically. (For instance, the same individual recorded the March scope for each class he shot.)

-And this is known-distance shooting, all 1000 yds, so doesn't speak to adjustability or repeatability of settings or anything like that. But I think it does speak to what can be counted on to take the punishing that a Big 50 can give to optics.

-I think it must be encouraging to Sightron, and compliment the quality of their product, to see their scopes making inroads to this select area of the shooting sports.

I have viewed some video of a Barrett (I think M82) 50 under recoil with optics on top. It was amazing to see the scope flex up and down considerably. Therefore there is value to using a wide ring, or as some are doing, two sets of rings front and behind the dials.

How many of those we used by sponsored shooters shooting provided gear? And how many were using gear they had to spend their own money on?

Comparisons like this really hold no value except to see which companies throw the most money are sponsorships.
