Nova Scotia deer season, And The Apple Dumpling Gang are out in force:rolleyes: :)
Day #1
First day of the deer season and I'm running around like a dog with 2 dicks. Not being ready or what, tearing down my gransdson's toys to find enough batteries for the gps, looking through boxes of clothes and other kit,:) Finally get on the road , sun shining :D , and then the ADG , their every .5 mile  , and deer sign is telling me they were there for weeks dumpling:D . So here I go up over ridges, down into gullies, trying to find deer that have not been gathered up to these areas:rolleyes: . Out of shape and a bit of the flu , sucking wind, and farting like and old draft horse hauling logs out of the woods.
I finally found a spot that you could shoot more than 50 meters and rested up. All in all a good start , found where improvements were needed. :D
Day #2
New area, perfect day , excellent setup, good sign , no joy. Took to walking, not a half mile from my setup, met up with more of the Gang  , they were just heading in 12:00 :D 50 lbs of apples over the shoulder , and parked 50 meters from their setup.:)
I was walking up , and got a chance to chat. Hey you guys part of the Apple dumpling Gang? They just laughed. Anyway did much scouting, looking pretty good for Nov. Figured you folks might get a kick out of the hunting methods of what seems to be 99 % of hunters out here.:D
Oh, where I setup this morning, there were bear, coyote, and deer tracks , might have to go get me a blackie tag.:)
There was a sad part of todays story, I did get on the road mush earlier today (on stand 1/2 hour prior to legal light) I was stopped by the cops, and routed around , their was a house on fire:( , and on the way home after lunch news crews were on scene, and the house was toast, I sure hope no one died:eek:

This is an hour out of the city, there is no getting away from these folks, I was 2 different spots, 20 miles apart.:( Anyway I been doing lots of thinking on this, and may go plot the 10-15 spots I saw the first day, transpose them to a topo(sunday no hunting), and figure it out from there, making use of 2 or more at the same time, if they triangluate. Will also come in handy after they tag out. :) I hope they do before the big fellas rut. :D

Franks can I offer some advice. Anytime you have a touch of the flu, never ever assume it is safe for you to fart. Trust me on that one buddy!:runaway: :D

Why don't you go get that bear tag and focus real hard on it, next thing you know you will bump into your Deer. Well, it sounds good anyway.

Hope the rest of the season has more steak and roasts than dumplings for you.

Keep up the good fight!;)
