The AR-15 is made non-restricted overnight, what changes happen?

I'm not a hunter, but I'd love to take my DA556 into the field and do some serious plinking with it.

I suspect one probably result would be that .223 ammo would sell out even faster....

Oh yeah...and I'd be buying an AR in .308 as soon as I could find one...

When AR's become NR, I will donate one (used) for raffle on CGN. Proceeds to the Canadian civil liberties association.

Now lets all get excited about what we'd do on a lotto max win!

They can keep it restricted for all I care. Just get rid of the ATT system completely and say that if I'm trusted to own one that I'm also trusted to use it responsibly at and away from the range. How is an AR-15 more dangerous than any other rifle out there? How does the way something looks make it more of a threat to public safety? How is a handgun more dangerous than a high power rifle?
The current system is so stupid I can't even comprehend how it makes sense or ever did make sense to anyone.
A firearm is a firearm one no more dangerous than the next if put in the hands of someone who has the intent to hurt people with it. Firearms are no more dangerous than knives or cars. Keep them away from people who shouldn't have them and everyone is safe. Take them away from honest good hearted citizens and the only ones left with them are criminals, police and the military, then we are all finished.

First thing I would do is sell all my AR's to a guy in Saskatchewan named Dave. I think it's the same Dave I sold all my NR's to after the demise of the LGR...just say in'

words ... dont care if they make AR15 as NR for now if they dont knee-cap RCMP's powers and future government's power to reclassify NR to prohibs. . Assuming that CPC did make AR15 NR, and when they loose the election in the future, Liberals going to make all semi-autos (probably including handguns...Canada is the NEW AUSTRALIA) prohibited with the help of the RCMP.

*** edit : having another group to over see the classifications is pointless if the group is stacked with antis or people who lack knowledge about guns except for what they see on TV, movies and medias

Just making some restricted as NR to get my votes is deceiving.

Who cares?

This does not address Canadian citizens being treated like potential criminals for merely owning firearms.

This does not address unelected bureaucrats from running rampant with their civil disarmament agenda.

Sure, crumbs are great, but not when you're starving.

Keep your eyes on the prize.

Yes really, one thing at a time. I just want to be able to use it away from the range. I don't care if they know I have one. My tinfoil hat isn't on so tight that I worry about if they know I have a firearms in my house. By participating on forums like this it's pretty obvious we all have firearms.
If it ever comes to a time where the government decides to strip us of our firearms they are coming to every residence with a valid PAL holder living there. I would hand over all my restricted firearms and tell them I sold all my non restricted rifles last week.
I don't let the fact that it's registered keep me up at night. I enjoy the fact that I can own an AR or 4 and a few other restricted toys while I can. When they come for them I hope to be compensated but I don't worry about it.
Do you honestly think that just because your firearms aren't registered that they won't come and kick in your door and search your house when they come for our guns?

This has nothing to do with registration. I just want to own one!

Gotta remember not everyone has their rpal. And there is no reason I shouldn't be aloud to own an ar15.
