I'm reading, thoroughly enjoying, and learning a thing or two from Bill Calfee's book The Art of Rimfire Accuracy. I've read some of Calfee's stuff in Accurate Rifle magazine, and get a kick out of his hillbilly self depreciating writing style. There's much more to this rimfire stuff than is appreciated by centerfire riflemen like myself. There are discussions about vertical lock up actions vs horizontal, 90 degree sears compared to angled sears, the issues that surround the cleaning of rimfire chambers and bores, and the groove and land relationship with the affect of the combustion ring. If you're a rifle shooter, you'll enjoy this one.

What a rabbit hole this rimfire game is. Honestly, I think the hole is way deeper than the centerfire one.... hahaha.

Can't you edit the title through the >edit post> "go advanced" tab?

There's much to learn about rimfire rifles and accuracy. Calfee's book is a great resource. Too bad the physical book is so expensive. I like real books over the Kindle versions, although the digital version is priced right.

He is a bit of a weird dude... we corresponded for awhile when there were some conflicting posting on Benchrest Central... I got the impression he did not want to give an exact answer to a question. He does make .22's shoot well.

I prefer a real book, but I must admit I'm reading the Kindle edition for that very reason. I like it enough to buy the book though.

So you're a died in the wool Remington guy, what's your reaction to his contention that a 40X is actually a single lug action due to the vertical lockup?

Not working right now and money is very tight. Anywhere to find a copy to read that is inexpensive? I can’t find it through the google play store

Never mind, I found it.
