The bad side of the EE

This post is too funny . The worst part of buying and selling on the EE is finding a box to ship it in and getting the time to send it between work and all the other things if I could only only convince the girl friend to pack and ship for me but that would only let here know whats comeing and going being a lefty I have found buying just to enhance my colllection but I have found my self saying that these deals come and go and passing up on some but I still like to look and compare pricing . Now I find myself stock pilling supplies to shoot the cursid fire sticks now I need the Time I wonder if I could find a deal on Time i would shurly buy that SPF

when my wife and i first met she told me i ad to quit the drugs and partying all night the cost to our relationship were to high so i did and got back in to hunting and shooting, now she is kicking her self. lol

Great thread

My name is B***t and I'm a EE schlut.

Just today, had to cash the beer cans and scrap metal to cover some EE ... 'indiscretions' ... you know, those long looked for, unobtainium,"gotta have this" items ... always timed to show up in direct conflict with a short term, real world, cash flow crisis.

Then there's the G.B. bidding war for that F.N. 98 hinged bottom metal. So glad I won.
Should be enough copper from that old pool heater in the dumpster to cover most ....

All this, while simultaniously self justifying 'cause I -DIDN'T- buy that antique M71 .43 Mauser that we all know will never show up again. The horror.

OP .... get a grip, a'fore you too start substituting old guns for young women.

yes i believe i fit in...i started hunting again this year after a 42 year absence and in this year alone i have bought and sold 14 rifles and now i am down to the 3 that i like the most, i thought me wife had given up, but heh, she is starting to do some shooting with me at the local range, she fell in love with my .357mag 1894 Marlin Cowboy (at least she has good taste). Maybe there is hope, i know i am happy and i hope she wants to start to come on a few hunts with me. Think positve lads, thats all i can say

:):)

i buy it shoot it and if I like it I keep it if i dont or it sits to long I sell it.. only guns I wont sell are ones handed down to me.. thats it..

I recall when we were first married and I was telling my bride how no one around seemed to take gun collecting as serious as I did. She mentioned having a look on this here interweb thingy and find a chat room or forum. That was stepping out for me! Wasn't long and I met Maddog at the Campfire who directed me here.

I bet my wife wished she never said a word. She thought I poured money into dirt bikes!

Where are we meeting for the support group? She might want to attend.

Before I got married, my future wife told me to get my toys now....so I did! A while after we were married she asked where all this debt came from
I said "Hey, you told me...." :D
Then she asked me how many I have, I told her more then 10, less then 60...... :p She just f:P:2:

I have always held onto my gear and guns regardless if they were getting used or not. Just this year I made the decision to sell anything that was just sitting in the safe 90% of the time.

As well as selling my stuff I have discovered that the EE is a far better spot to get my brass and bullets as the majority of the reloading supply dealers are out of stock , or do not have my particular round / brass. Some of the components I require have been on backorder for the last three years..NOT the case with the EE
:D

My opinion is I am young and just starting to save for a house and expecting a family in the next few years so I am gonna do all my buying and selling now. I want to try everything and figure out what I like so that when I am married with a wife and kids I can focus on them. .

It sounds like you are sowing your wild oats but in such a manner as to not sow your wild oats. :D Sorry Mleht but I gotta a chuckle outa that. :D

Meh....none of you guys have even broken 50 yet....it gets worse (better?)

Trust me ;)

Its not the amount, its how the tiny cogs turn in your head. I like to think of myself as practical. I know I can't give true attention to 10 guns never mind 50. Throughout my life I have had a way bigger love affair with motorcycles and I'd be happy with one or 2 at a time. Something about guns though. Makes you want them when you don't need them.

My problem is that I'm buying and not selling ratio. I then have to get brass, bullets, dies and more storage and on and on.

My father drilled one thing into my head as I was growing up. NEVER SELL A GUN!! He has 3. M94 .30-30, Cooey .22LR, Rem SS 20ga. During my younger life (baby at 17) I was too broke to have to worry about selling a gun. I only had 2. Used them all the time (when I was allowed out). First marriage lasted 23yrs. During that item I could only afford "deals". I picked up a fair number of bubba'd LE's and one almost complete one. Then a re-barrelled mauser 98 in .30-06. Then it seemed to start to take off.
Wife didn't understand why I needed so many but kept out of it. As long as the bills were paid, etc.
New wife has same feelings, but also has 3 of her own in the safe. I have sold/traded some over the past 5-6 years but only to get more. However, each time i did, I could feel mt father standing beside me with a frown on his face and telling me, "NEVER SELL A GUN". Well, I am still not independently wealthy, but I definitely more than 10 and less than 60. I shoot what I have every year. I choose what I am going to hunt, where I am going to hunt and pick which rifle/bullet combination will be hunting with me on each foray. I can usually count on using at least 3 rifles per season. Each one tuned to a certain use. I love this versatility, and can't see selling/trading any more, but I can see buying another one...

im getting addicted to the EE and the contacts you can make here on CGN as well... once I buy one (or 5 :D ) guns theres another more awesome useful one coming into the country and I have to sell... I know I have a problem, but I like it... :stirthepot2:

Amen on the packing and looking for boxes...:D

When the CFO Inspector recently visited me for a home inspection, and explained that I had in excess of 950 transfers over the last 3-4 years I thought "yeah, that's about right". I currently have four rifles in the mail to me, and four handguns heading out. What fun! Life is good... :)
