The Battlecomp is Bad and Battlecomp Enterprises Should Feel Bad

The dirty little secret of muzzle devices is that they should be optimized to specific barrel lengths. The same device will have very different muzzle movement characteristics between the spectrum of barrel lengths available. A comp on a 10.5" can over compensate badly but work perfectly on a 16". Manufacturers are doing a disservice to their customers (or they are too lame to admit they don't know what they are doing) by not disclosing their design and test parameters.

Good point.

I did not like the Battlecomp on my ARs, but they work great on my Tavors.
Tried a PWS 556 and a A6 brake on the Tavors too, liked the Battle Comps the best.

Yep, I remember testing your compensatory on my 14.5" AR and it performed quite well, but it was over compensating your shorty AR. It's amazing the difference 4" can make.

For guys shooting 3 gun, or just weekend range guys, comps like the SF MB556k, or the PWS TTO is fine. For serious training environments (CQB, assaulter) and working in teams they suck. Too loud, to concussive. Anyone doing PMC work will never use a ported comp. The Triple tap is "ok" but its still pissy to work around. So is the battlecomp, but a bit less so. I own a BC, on my 14.5 KAC, and love it, but I do not use it in training. My working guns only have flash hiders, or KX3's. At CQB ranges, you should not need a ported comp to keep the muzzle on target.

Highbreds such as the BCM comp may be even better than the BC in CQB, or shoot houses or inside vehicles. I put one on an M4, and am trying it out.
I have been in the drivers seat when my team mate needed to shoot through the windshield at a threat. Even with an A2 flash hider, the pressure was insane. A ported compensator would be so much worse.
