The Beretta CX4 Thread

Range report.

I love this thing! It is definitly better than I thought it was going to be! Look forward to stretching its legs out a little!

Anyone put a stiffer mag release button spring in theirs? If you sneezed on mine the mag would drop

my mag release is the opposite. its a bit tight, but not too bad. I figure I'll leave it alone as I figure it will loosen up over time.

as for shimming the trigger housing its easy peasy. The trigger housing is like a plastic bathtub that fits in the receiver. if you look carefully, you will find that it moves back and forth a bit due to tolerances and mass production. Front to rear movement. I figure that the trigger being pushed back by the finger will move the housing before it moves the trigger bits. If you work it, you will see the slop. So, I took a piece of card stock(business card etc) and cut it to fit the space between the housing and receiver. I cut it to just fit side to side and top to bottom, just enough so its not visible. it won't fall out or fall apart, at least in the near future. maybe in 20 years or so. And if it was metal, maybe it would wear out the plastic receiver or housing. And its free. I noticed less play in the trigger with this. your mileage may vary, but its free, so giver. :)

That's odd that the springs would be SO different... Maybe mine was lightened by someone.

Going to pull that lower off and have a look right now :) those metal SP housings are $359USD !!!! Never gonna happen! ... Unless my #### breaks! Lol!

Thanks JR

*edit*

I must have gotten lucky, the trigger housing mates nicely to the lower... But that's not why I'm editing this post.

It's an easy fix to adjust the spring tension on the mag release button. Essentially it is just a "narrow U shape spring" and you can pull it out with a pair of needle nose without dismantling anything else. Open it up to increase tension, close it up to lessen. However! Be careful as it is thin sprung steel so will snap easily.

Just picked up a NR 9 CX4 and i am in love with it. Accuracy out pf the box with irons is amazing! I know the gun is not perfect but its good enough for me. Im not the best shot and i know guys that have been shooting for much longer can do better but for me to do a 2"group at 25 yds with iron sights i know this gun is accurate.
Now to find a nice optic, preferebly red dot, maybe the holosun 503cu??

What kind of mags are you fellas using? Has anyone tried the mec-gar knock off mags? Looking to grab some more if any one is selling.

Also when you guys are cleaning your bolt how far down do you strip it. As of now I have only taken off that clip, that allows you to remove the guide rod, ejector and extractor. Not to sure how to get in deeper but I notice there are some small retention pins in there that looks like you can remove. Not sure if there are any good vids out there showing how its done.

What mount is used to co-witness a Vortex Sparc II with the CX4?

Not entirely sure it's possible: the iron sights are very low on the frame. You're going to want as low a mount as you can get, that might give you 1/3 co-witness. I can't say, my mount is too high for that and I didn't try for co-witnessing at all.

That's as far as I ever get. Just passed the 4000 rounds fired mark, and the more I shoot this carbine, the less I feel a driving need to clean anything more than the barrel. You're talking about pieces 25 and 27? I never removed them. If I ever start seeing light strikes on the primer, I'll consider it, though.

Hoping to get a response from Boomer and others based on below:

Vortex Sparc will co-witness and albeit a bit more than $200 it's much better than a TRS25 which I have had zero luck with ( two models, both crapped out).

Borrowing these pictures from GrumpyBiker on another site, demonstrating co-witness:

Eh, it DOES co-witness! Thanks, Mastermind! :)

I'd be tempted to start looking for a low-height mount for the optics, but given mine has a "regular" reticle, there's not much point: the reticle will remain visible regardless of the batteries being dead or not, so I'll never use the iron sights unless I have to remove the scope entirely.

(Edit: as far as mags go, I have five Beretta 92 mags, and they work flawlessly).

Here is my new baby with a magpul angled foregrip and a Holosun 503c

This thing is awesome, just need to do something about that trigger, any experiences with the sierra papa kit?

Also does anybody know if there is a fake suppressor/shroud that covers the whole exposed part of the Non restricted barrel?

I been loving mine even stock! Coming from a VZ/SKS/SVT this is a pleasure to shoot. Only down fall is how fast the 9mm goes. I think the girlfriend can even shoot this. I got the restricted version since It was onsale for 599.99 and I don't regret it one bit.
