The Beretta CX4 Thread

I did paint it OD green. Krylon spraypaint. if you don't paint it the mods will be very noticeable. going to try my hand at camo painting some time soon. mod makes it really easy to hit the mag release. the bar there was always getting in my way slightly. win win cause it does look way better

Hahaha. Man is that ever true. I thought it was just me. I can not push in the mag release all the way while holding the gun normally. My buddies can, but I cant. I have to bring the gun inwards and hold it facing up, in order for me to push it. It works out though because thats the position it would normally be in to slide in a new mag. Glad you showed me a solution. Thanks man

Glad I could Help Agent Mulder. I heard some where they put that bar across too complies with the rules in Europe. considered a thumb hole stock.

Could the CX4 be used in 3 Gun Matches? Love the idea of using my 92fs mags for this rifle as well.

I think you should be good bud. I see no reason why they wouldn't allow it.

The only things i would consider is if there are any draw backs to you using it? Are you shooting at cardboard or steel plates? A 9mm round from a far distance will have trouble knocking down steel. Also how far are the rifle targets? I know i am no marksman, but i certainly wouldnt trust my accuracy with that past 150-200 yrds. Im not saying it cant be done, but something 200+ i would want a calibre with a little more oomph to insure my round goes exactly where i want it to

Thanks for the reply and questions. I haven't started "playing" yet but hope to this spring so I am not sure about the distances that are involved with the ranges here on Vancouver Island. I suspect that they are not too long and should be reachable with the 9mm round. I hope so! The other thing that really intrigues me about the CX4 is the NR status and the flexibility that this offers.

I haven't shot mine a lot, but enough to get comfortable with it. It fits me pretty well.
Like most, I've had issues with releasing the mag by conventional means. My solution was that when the bolt is locked open after the last shot, remove trigger finger from guard, and while curling the whole hand slightly, slide it around underneath the trigger guard towards the mag release and use the middle finger to depress the latch. The mag will drop free leaving your off hand to insert the new mag and operate the bolt release.

I have no real issues with the factory sights except for wanting to enlarge the peep apertures for quicker target acquisition. I would probably turn down the front sight diameter a bit also, if i was going to do a lot of shooting past 100m. Otherwise, it's not really necessary. I prefer peep sights to red dot sights for my own use. I do not find them to be a hindrance at all.

Mine shoots IVI ball ammo into 2.5" @100m so it's plenty accurate. The best one could hope for performance wise, (and you can accomplish this with careful handloading with 115 and 124gr bullets) is to duplicate velocity and energy figures at 100m what you would normally get at the muzzle with a pistol.

Here is my NR in .40 with a cheap red dot. No other mods other than what you see. LOL
I do really want a trigger kit from Sierrapapa. The trigger is the only thing i dont care for.
The whole thing gets duracoat this spring.
