Is that they are so cheap, you can afford to customize them however you want and still have a 1911 for about a grand.
Meet the newest never sell in my collection
Big thanks to Arwenace (casey) for doing a beautiful job! It was definately worth the wait! This trigger feels smoother than any 1911 I have shot to date (springfield, kimber, s and w).
Here is what we did:
Fusion bob tail main spring housing (black, chain design)
Nighthawk custom solid medium trigger (3.5 lb trigger job)
Wilson combat deluxe commander hammer
Fusion extended sigsauer style extended slide stop
Wilson combat sear and a new pin
Wilson combat internal spring set
Trijicon Novak style tritium sites
Vz black operator ii grips
Smoothed everything out, took all edges off, rounded the trigger guard
Parkerized and baked black finish

After:
These pictures really don't do it justice but they are off my black berry and I suck at taking good pics.
RANGE REPORT
I took a little of everything to the range. The gun handled all of it but there were a few fail to feeds and the hollow points were not getting picked up well so the gun would occasionally not go to full battery (for some reason it was worse when I would slingshot then if I used the slide stop to drop the slide). These problems were solved by swapping in a heavier guide rod spring. I had a feeling the one I had in would be too light.
The trigger is golden. It has no take up and breaks cleanly. It made my springfield trigger seem very second rate.
Slide locked back on empty every time.
The grips feel great and made one handed shooting feel much more comfortable than I have previously experienced.
In terms of kick, it really felt no different than the 5 inch models. It handles really nicely.
In terms of accuracy, I am not much of a shooter but those bullets went where they should have! It is definately capable of tight groups at 25 meters in the right hands...not my hands!
No brass was flying back at me, it all went nicely out to the side.
The sights were great, I was thinking I should have gone with fibre optics, but these were easy to focus in on even while doing some faster shooting.
