The BEST Straight-Pull Rifle in Canada - Maple Ridge Armoury

Where did you get the fore end? Digging the classic look!
I had them build it with a sixteen inch barrel and the twelve inch for end. They list a lot of parts on their site so one could do the change easily themselves. They were really open to discussing build options. Give them a call ..... was very impressed by their customer service.

That’s what I thought too but ever single carry handle build I’ve seen has been like that so I assume there must be a reason why it’s not moved forward a notch.
Looking at it again it can't be moved ahead. The "notch" looks like it was where the forward assist would have been on an AR. Sorry about that.

Got my Renegade and adding few basic accessories on

- Holosun ARO Green dot
- Holosun HM3X
- Magpul MVG
- S & J Hardware Linear Compensator: not the best option for 16 inches but our range shooting spots are kinda close so I don’t want to bother my fellows with a break. And on my second trip to the range, a piece of styrofoam above my shooting spot was broken and fell down after I shoot around 5-6 rounds with no muzzle device so I guess the linear compensator might help mitigate “damaging” the range property lol. It could not be my gun which did it as I’ve shoot hundreds rounds of 6.5 Creedmoor from my Tikka at the same spot and nothing has not happened

To be added later
- A bipod
- New grip
- New trigger group
- maybe mount a torch but not so sure

Wish:
- new style of charging handle and some dowel pins which are not stuck

So how are guys capping off the gas ports in their old barrels? A blank gas block, or just twisting the original one out of alignment?

(NVM - I found the answer)

Looks identical to my build. Same scopes and front grip. I got the Magpul bipod, works amazing. The stuck pins for the charging handle are a nightmare, i just cleaned last night and it took 10 minutes to get them out. little trick, mount the handle on the opposite side, pull the bolt halfway back to get more room to gran the pins... I just put a bit of lube oil on the pins this time, will see if that helps them come out next cleaning

We regret that we had a small batch bolts with a slightly undersize pins ( by approximately 2 thousandths of an inch) and many customers reports sticking.
Heat and oil work. We use a diagonal wire cutter, rather than needle-nose or vise-grips. Using a prying action with the wire cutter making sure to protect the receiver with a piece of leather or several layers of electrical tape will get the pins out. Let us know and we will replace the pins for you if damaged. We also recommend reaming out the holes with a 1/8" drill bit before re-inserting the pins.

When will you have new charging handles available for purchase? My MK1 charging handle is mangled up after years of usage.

Hi Morgan,

We are making more all the time. I literally just moved some from "manufacturing" to store stock. You can order one online here. It shows backorder for now, but will show live inventory in a few minutes.

Question, i just built up my renegade, all looks well. With the spring assist in the actual bolt, is is the bolt supposed to kind of float on on that spring since it's kinda holding back the bolt? Im only used to building ar-15s and with the bolt closed it would not budge forward at all. But i can push the bolt forward with the renegade maybe 1/8 of an inch after the bolt is closed. Ai tells me its nothing to worry about but figured id hear from the horses mouth, thanks

I put in an order but it still shows its on back order. You have it in stock and will ship right?

Hi Macky,

The bolt operates the same as an AR15, in that it rotates into place locking the bolt behind the locking lugs of the barrel extension.

The spring inside the bolt carrier is just to assist with un-locking and extraction, and should remain compressed while the bolt is closed.

As long as the locking lugs stay locked you have nothing to worry about.

It’s hard to imagine the “authorities” haven’t deemed this an assault style weapon but my HiPoint 996 is !

HiPoint is semi-auto, therefore inherently evil in the eyes of said "authorities".

The Renegade is a dedicated bolt-action platform with an FRT to prove it so....less evil and not on their radar for upcoming bans.
