Who makes the best tumbler? Want it to do rifle brass. Not interested in a sonic type. Are there any major differences pros or cons in the assorted tumblers out there? Do you need two tumblers both filled with different types of media?

Lastly is the RCBS sidewinder something special? Ive noticed its about 4 times the price of the standard type tumblers.

Thanks for any info.

You might as well get the best system going to start off. Have a look at stainlesstumblingmedia dot com. I used vibratory tumblers for decades and switched to this setup, it blows away anything else on the market.

I've been looking at this setup for quite a while now. Just ordered up the complete setup this morning. Might as well since the Canadian dollar is doing so good.

I'm looking forward to not having to clean primer pockets anymore. Wooo!

X2. I read a few reports from folks on here and a couple of other sites and decided to bite the bullet and ordered one yesterday. Now I can charge my buddies for doing their case laundry:D.

I was worried I might not be able to find the Lemi-Shine they use. When I was at Can Tire last week I saw it on sale for $4 a bottle so I picked up a couple knowning that I'd be ordering this stainless media setup.

Fogducker, I've always admire your tumbler. That's good work there. I've been struggling to build mine for the longest time now. My biggest problem of course, is that I'm cheap, and so I'm always trying to find stuff for cheaper or free. I almost paid for the Odjob Cement Mixer when I found out that it is prone to leaking.

So now, I think I'm going to look for a free pail somewhere, pay the money and get a good Gamma Seal Lid and then figure out the bloody rollers and pulley for it.

I've already got my SS, just need the setup...

I just saw the price of them - yikes! Good thing I bought mine about 20 years ago. :)

The vibratory models I've seen in operation are a lot quieter than my sidewinder. But it is easier and more convenient to use with liquid media which I find myself doing more.

My cheap Cabela's/Berry's Tumbler, walnut from Princess Auto or pet store, and Nu-Finish car polish been producing clean and shiney brass for me for the past 7 years with zero problems.

I got myself one of those stainless media kits with the bucket, rods, soap and strainer! thanks for the info guys.

i've got a frankfort & a dillon . the dillon is twice the unit. corn or walnut + mr clean, 1 cap full,1/4 of a used dryer sheet, works fine, unless your more into clean brass than shooting.
