The Big 3 day Moose hunt in N.B.

Coming soon... I know to stay out of the woods on the 28th to the 30th of Sept... And I NEVER apply... You hear of guys applying for 20 years and getting it ONCE... I don't think I could take the anguish...

Cheers
Jay
P.S. Good luck to everyone who was lucky enough to get a tag! 3 days, geez, what a retarted season...

I got asked to on a second gun tag, but I'd already committed to working a shutdown at the refinery. If he would have asked a few days earlier, things would have been different.

I can never understand why the season is so short in NB. The terrain in northern NB seems similar to northern ON so should be able to support a good size moose herd. Why are the populations so low that they have to limit hunting opportunities so drastically? are there similar restrictions on aboriginal hunting?

Wanna see something funny , its the accuracy test for the licence, yes you read right :D . I hung around one year to watch an old lady 65 or so put a 30-30 round between her feet, and another, an old fella that took an un sighted 44 mag ruger with a red dot for the shoot. He was not even close to the target.
Gotta wonder the percentage of folks that go hunting like this. :)
Tgt for qual 40x40 inches, 40 meters prone if you wish, and must hit anywhere on the tgt 2 out of 3 times. :D

That was designed to restrict husbands hunting on the wife's licence or similar. They stopped doing that test about ten yrs ago.
