...The two new ones in the safe this year are (1) a Husky in .366 Wagner, purchased from the man himself (including one of his famous custom recoil pads); and (2) a Savage 340 in 30-30 to use as a take-down rifle for island blacktails. I call the 30-30 my Winchester 30-30 short (non) magnum, because I trim the brass extra short in order to use the 110gr TTSX. That combo worked wonders on blacktail this fall - bought it on the EE, did the load development, and used it successfully within a few weeks. I think both are going to stick around for quite a while.
Here's the Husky on the Dease River earlier this year - unfortunately Bullwinkle eluded us, but I was happy to have more than a 270 when a grizzly came in on my moose call!
