The black bear king of the internet thread.

Going out this weekend, hoping to connect with a large bear I saw in the fall.

I don't know if I will be king of the internet but I hope to cut my tag in the early season.

Heard of any sightings yet? Most of the snow is gone up in my area but I haven't heard any word of Bears poking their noses out.
And like you I'll be hunting this weekend regardless of Bear sign. Good luck to you.

Last day of bear hunting where I will be is June 30th, maybe extend the cutoff date by a few days? If im in the bush on the last day I won't have time to post pics until the end of the weekend. Maybe monday July 4th as a cutoff date?

Hirsch I have seen sign and the radio is abuzz with warnings of bears in provincial parks in this region.

Gonna go check out an area that is almost all man made south facing slopes; not to give away too much detail...

I wish you luck this weekend as well.

I'm planning on getting out for spring bear, so I'm in! Rifle will be the Nosler M48 Outfitter in 35 Whelen with 225 Grain Accubonds, oh ya the rifle is topped with a Elite 6500 1.25-8x32 scope with QD Leupold rings & bases.

Here's hoping I get to post a pic!

Cheers
Jay

Holy Hell man that is a sweet rig. You should post a pic of the rifle regardless of if you get a Bear or not.

Waiting til the end of the month for the roads to dry out some then scouting hard and setting out baits. I'll be combining hunting and trapping so the arsenal will contain power foot snares, K31 for sure, possibly an other milsurp rifle plus the bow. Goal is two bears since there's a really healthy population on my trapline. Don't really care about ### or size as I'm mostly after meat and want to help out the ungulate populations at the same time I'm bringing home excellent meat for the table. A huge trophy boar would be nice but is not the main goal for me. Good luck on your bear hunts this spring fellas and look forward to the posts of successful exciting hunts.

Now it is all snow, no sign. Road where I wanted to go was closed and I fell and knocked the fiber optic off my front sight.

I shall overcome.

It's open in BC and it cooled down ,this weekend is looking good then Turkey opening on the 15th

I live and turkey hunt in s/w Ontario. I go to camp in Northern Ontario for bear hunting. I can honestly say that I don't think i'd be very comfortable on the ground camo'd up, leaning against a tree calling turkeys knowing that there are hungry bears roaming around me.
