The black bear king of the internet thread.

Glad to see you're finally using proper terminology. :)

Well if we're going to start commenting on "proper terminology", I don't think the term "Banged" has any legitimate usage in a ###ual context either, when we come right down to it. In fact I would advocate that the term "Banged" is much more appropriate as I use it than it is used as a ###ual term.............

Good luck to you tomorrow C_90, hope you bang a big one......

C'mon you guys, ain't anybody else gonna shoot some bears...............only 2 months and 12 days left till she closes............

If I shot one now, I'd be poaching... the season opens May 1st... still not sure if we are going... I did a stupid thing and ran my hand into a tablesaw blade (long story of rank stupidity)... had to have surgery to reattach the tendon in my left index finger, the blade went halfway through the knuckle joint... since I am in a cast for five weeks, I am falling way behind on jobs... hopefully, we can squeeze in a few days of bear hunting.

Sorry to hear, the flippin tablesaws can ruin lots in short time.

Friend of mine lost one of his eyes last fall when blade failed.

Thanks CFBMI, unfortunately I did not bang anything.

Saw lots of elk, mulies, and ruffies up on the mountain. Even spotted a brown trout that appeared to be in the 20 inch range. Everything but a bear; and only found sign of that on top of a "mountain".

All I have to say about today is "foothills my ass". Them is steep I tells you.

Well that's an unfortunate turn of events, you'll just have to get out again and cover some different territory.......look for lots of south facing slopes, you'll find blackies.................May I suggest more glassing and less walking, I find this to increase my success ratio exponentially..........lots of walking after one locates a good bear........
