well made rifle , accurate , takes all ammo , I always thought the browning was more of a youth sized rifle , I have a Marlin 39A , and a marlin 39 Mountie , and I prefer them to the Browning , they are both accurate and work flawlessly , the 39A ( 24 inch barrel ) has a 4X scope on it , and the Mountie (20 inch barrel ) does not , both Marlin's are full sized rifles , nothing wrong with the browning but the others are worth a look . Also I have a Winchester 9422 -M ( magnum ) it also comes in .22 LR , it's very well made , accurate and also should be considered when you are looking for a lever action .22 rifle ....later Joe

I've had one in mint shape but it got traded off last year before I had a chance to shoot it. I grew up with my best friend having a BL22 - cleaned once a decade, shot everthing really well, only thing that ever failed was the firing pin after a "who can fire the fastest at these rotten apples on the ground" contest when it got too hot to handle - literally. I'm sure it's had 100 000 rounds through it in it's lifetime and probably 20 000 of those rounds were mine. I'm looking for one as a shooter (read - cheap) if anyone can help me out, posted the want ad on the EE. I've got a Henry and a Winchester 9422 and I like them both but that lightweight fast shooting BL22 always makes me smile.

I have one of these also. Been "in the family" for about 30 years. Wonderful firearm. Dependable and good looking, more than I can say about a couple of my girl friends, still have the original box and packing.

Open sights, never needed anything more "exotic".

It is a bit small though. But, it is light and easy to get used to.
