...if it didn't have a great bore I'd have turned away or averted my eyes like when a welder strikes an arc you were not expecting.
30-40 Model 1894

The rear sight is off a Cooey , I swear.

Look at the blister grafted onto the wrist of the stock.
Apparently I can get a finished stock for this girl from Macon
Maybe a no-smith scope mount because the sights are as attractive as a pimple
Pity, as the serial number is below 2 K, making it an early first model rifle cut-down
But the rotary magazine is really cool; beautiful machining

Why oh why do I let these rode hard Soiled Doves follow me home?
Take a 200 $ bubba's rifle; invest 300 and end up with...a 250 dollar rifle
Maybe because they'll shoot as good as a 800 $ rifle right out of Cabela's if you do it right.
I like getting a good old Bubba'd girl to shoot as good as the Safe Queens.

Krag jorganson, Used by the us in the cuban-Americian war. They only won because they brought out the Gatling guns. This was the moment that the USA learned that he who throws the most lead wins.

Im not familular with this rifle...what exactly was done to it?
It was cut down; bbl and wood, top handguard tossed aside
That wooden blister grafted onto the wrist of the stock.
The beautiful rear sight tossed aside.
A modified front sight brazed onto the bbl.
And I'd guess it leaned against a shop wall for many years.
The only good thing to say about the owner from way back is he must have cleaned the bore after shooting because it's pretty good.
But wow do Krags have smooth action! I'd heard this but it must be cycled to appreciate it truly.

Funny thing about Krags is in the 60s and 70s you couldn't give them away. I saw one in a gun shop in the mid 70s and they wanted about $50 for it and it just didn't sell.
If this one went for cheap I would pick it up for parts.
