I've got an older model that was rated for 900 yrds, I've used it hunting all over the place and haven't had any issues on big game at ranges up to 700yrds. It only has a 4x lense so it limits what I can get. I've had good experience using it for ground hogs up to 600yrds. Friends of mine were using Leica and the bushnell is as good.
If I had an "ideal" product it would be a 14x binocular with built in laser range finder and mildot with a 42mm objective lense. This would be perfect for tactical, hunting, and sportman uses. Light weight, large enough for excellent quality, and mildot would be a back up to laser or for tactical uses.
