Coyote Ambush McMillan Classic arrived today for my 5.56

Nice looking setup. What size scope are you using?

Just looking at it I wonder if I could go with #3 and #4 Ruger rings and still have plenty of room to work the bolt handle? There is plenty of space between the bell and the barrel, but it is also nice having good clearance for the bolt handle.

Leupold VxR 3-9x40. I juggle this scope, and the 2.5x Scout, between my 5.56 & 308 GSR's.

Gotta sell mine to fund a truck unfortunately. I'll be back in a couple years Love this gun. Going to replace it with a beater jungle carbine for now.

What kind of distance/accuracy have you been getting with it mounted on the 308? 18" barrel?

I haven't shot the VxR much on the 308 yet, basically just at 100 yards to figure out the windage & elevation adjustment needed to swap it between the 5.56 (Up 11.5moa & Right 4.25moa)

I have shot the 308 (18.7") out to 1050 yards with a Vortex PST 2.5-10x, accuracy was fantastic up to 800 yards with the 208gr ELD Match

I use a 3/4 combo height with a VX-2 3-7x33. No issues with bolt clearance

First range trip with the new McMillan on the GSR 5.56. Fired nine 5 shot groups with the 73gr Hornady ELD , average was 1.01" @ 100 yards. Some real promising combos to further explore and tune

Hi all,
I've been searching and searching...trying to avoid asking the same question twice in the same forum, but obviously didn't succeed!

So here is my question: What rings are to be used with a Burris Scout 2.75x20? Has to be as low as possible, doesn't have to be QR but would be a +.

Your input greatly appreciated!

This is a Burris 2-7X32 in Leupold low QRWs.

Anyone know if any dealers have the synthetic Gunsite stock from Ruger in stock? They are apparently 1lbs lighter then the laminate.
