Hi everyone! Got a savage mk 2 bv, trigger adj at lowest setting it can go 2 or 2 1/2 lbs at a guess, burris rings, weaver mounts,,nikon 3x9x40 glass, good shot. Tried cci stinger-#### 1 1/2 at 50 yrds. then cci mini mag- 8 of 10 shots in 3/4 at 50-better. My dilema is 6/10 rounds in 1/2 hole at 50 yrds with cci standard at 50 or cci velocitor 7/10 in 5/8 hole at 50 yrds. don't know which to site in with? My feeling is if i use velocitors, there will be less drop at 100 because of the velocity difference, but I'm an accuracy nut and an eighth is an eighth! Which should I sight in with? One more thing, used harris bipod on front and sandbags at butt for all groups! Help, opinions welcome

I think it depends on what you are shooting at, if it's windy etc. lot from lot will probably change anyway. Get them both. Cheap ammo anyway.

Forget the Velocitors if you are an accuracy buff... The SV's are the way to go... Sight-in with them and then continue your accuracy testing to find the load your gun likes best... I'm betting that SV's will shoot well...

If you are trying to shoot the smallest groups, ditch the bipod, and use a proper front rest and bag combination. As to ammunition, why limit yourself to CCI, when there are many other choices out there. I find that SK Standard Plus works well in my CZ, Cooper, and Anschutz rifles.

My bv with cheap rings and stoeger scope work well out to a hundred yards, then the scope and my eyes let he rifle down
CCI sv and mini mags all shoot very well in it
Winchester bulknot so much, I save that for the 10/22

Never had issues with CCI stingers either

i have a BV with Leopold rings and a Simmons pro target. I try to only shoot, CCI SV and occasionally green tag when i find it and i'm feeling rich. One thing i found with mine is if i switch ammo types it can take up to 30 rounds to get my groups back down to where the should be. I can usually get around 1/2" groups at 50yrds(not consistently enough for the challenge though). Haven't had much time out to a 100yrds as my backyard range is only 50. Also i found Remington target to shoot quite well too( i have a couple hundred as back up if i run dry of cci and the price is reasonable), never tried stingers, that's what my 1022 is for

CCI Select has a velocity of 1200 fps. The rim thickness is also very consistent. Cost is about $15 per 100. Eley Match EPS is about the same but for 50.
Sighted in for 50 yards, SV ammo has about 7 MOA drop at 100 yards.
HV drops about 6 inches at 100 when sighted in for 50.
The Hyper velocity ammo is not noted for accuracy.
CCI MiniMags have given good accuracy but your rifle may prefer solids over the HP's or visa versa.

show no mercy. if you are an accuracy nut, then you have to ditch your hv ammo. when the ammo slows through the sound barrier at about 75 yds, it starts to do funny things. It will still be good for hunting little critters, but accurate it will not be.
