"The chart"

We have to ask ourselves what is the true intend of the chart? After reading it, it's telling me that the only "true milspec" AR is made by Colt (no big scoop here) therefore the other brands are not. SO THEN WHAT?

Are we suppose to think that all the other brands (than Colt) aren't as good or are no good? Or that the more you have milspec features the better you are?

I'm sure that the soldiers on duty don't give a s**t about milspec, they just want their AR to work when it's supposed to.

For civies like us, is milspec a good thing or a must? Maybe not... Depends on what you want your AR for. We don't necessarily need M4 feed ramps, 1:7 twist (if you shoot 55gr-62gr 99% of the time like me, 1:9 is plenty good), 5.56 chamber (we're shooting .223 rem...), double heat shield handguards (heck many of us went with railed handguards), foward assist, dust cover, etc...

Personally I don't give a rat's ass about the chart. It looks like it was made to promote some brands and bash others. I will probably never get a Colt because of the price they are selling up here plus I don't have any special attraction to that brand (I don't NEED a Colt in my goodies to sleep well at night). I own an Armalite and a Stag, so far they work flawlessly for me and they cost much less than the "more milspec" ones.

So Walt, I know it must be irritating to see false info going around, but I besides that "so what"... Stags are reliable and affordable and that's what most of us are looking for.

Example: I have sitting here right now the only Noveske AR ever actually imported and registered into Canada... actually it's not yet registered because CFC is still creating an FRT screen for Noveske (to our surprise it turned out that there has never been a single Noveske rifle registered in Canada before now )... so no FRT # exists for any Noveske products.

Mark PM sent !

lol.

Not really anything interesting, just telling Mark that there already are a few N4 rifles in Canada registered as Noveske...

KPA

You say that, but searches of the on-line FRT database (current to within 24 hours) do NOT show the name Noveske in the database, in any variation.

Not under Make
Not under Manufacturer
Not under AKA
Under Model the only listings for variations on "N4" using wildcards comes up with 3 FN Model SAFN49's (since "N4" is contained in their model designation)

There may be other Noveske's here in Canada but they are NOT listed in the FRT as being Noveske's or under the model designation "N4"... at least that is what the FRT and CFC are indicating.

If that's wrong then please supply the FRT # and save us a lot of time :)

It would be interesting to know what name these rifles are being registered with.
Who is bringing them in? Is it legal not to call them the proper name?
If you can just make #### up, I want a Savage G36, a Hank Kitchen 416 and a Barbie Model 82A1................

They are registered as Noveske.

And no, you cant make s**t up, BUT you can :stirthepot2: s**t up .

:dancingbanana::dancingbanana::dancingbanana:

I guess I'm going to be accused of "stirring the pot" as well... but just got a response from CFC in Ottawa... They also can't find any Noveske rifles in the FRT so they've just created a new FRT #126463 and a variety of child entries for the different models and barrel lengths... all for Noveske Rifleworks products... it will be active tomorrow.

Which begs the question: kako911 under what FRT # and what manufacturer's name did you register those 5 rifles? Now you've got me very curious ;)

I emailed John at Noveske about the feed ramps, and he said that they never claimed to offer "M4 feedramps" on the N4s, but instead state "extended feedramps".

I guess the author(s) of the chart have interpreted the two to mean one in the same.

The necessity of the M4 feedramps on Noveske N4s may be another matter. I haven't heard of many feeding complaints from N4 users. The ramping seems to be the same on both 14.5" and 16" models.
