The coolness of cartridges...

My 8x57mm Husky.. KOOL

My Savage 99 TD, 250-3000 VERY KOOOOL, FIRST ROUND TO ACHIEVE 3000FPS..

My .303 epps PRETTY DAMN KOOL, AND ###Y LOOKING BAD ASSED ROUND.
 
While some of Gate's choices approach coolness, the 30 calibres are all tarnished with a certain degree of uncoolness, simply because they are 30's. Add to that the inclusion of several stillborn goofy short magnums, and Gate's entire selection of kool cartridges comes up considerably short of cool. Cartridge Coolness includes, but is not limited to the 250-3000 Savage, 45/70, 6.5x55 Swedish, .358 Winchester, .375 H&H. Chamber these in somethin' special, add some great furniture, and you have an honest shot at cool.
 
.375 H+H has been so cool for so long I'm shivering just thinking about it!

.375 H+H Ackley Improved is also to be noted for it's slickness.

.460 Weatherby could not be anything but cool, it's like Ahhnold when he was a weightlifter cool.

The way he paused between each word certainly added to the cool factor. Man, you would not belive what this round was capable off. Not so much then and there in his hands but theoretically.

I asked if he reloaded and he said:

"Don't need to with the 300!"

He's somewhat correct...You can't gain much (if any) velocity with handloads for the WSM's, and there is a factory selection for doing anything you might want.And all the factory ammo seems pretty darn accurate, too.

I still handload for it of course, since factory ammo is for the weak...:p

I used 30's simply because it's the "universal" North American caliber, form 30-30 to 30-378..

If you wish to take another caliber, and comment on them all ,please do.;)
