Not Kool. Maybe in a HB bolt action "sniper" rig, it's cool, but barely. Still more cool than a .30-06 I guess...Efficient and capable cartridge, of course, but lacking that Kool factor unless housed in some semi auto like a M-14.

"Koolness" is primarily in the eyes of the owner, or perhaps driven by one's desire to own one. As far as game goes, they don't recognize "kool", and will fall down whether the rifle is regarded by others as kool or not. Regards, Eagleye.
Not true. Every animal I have shot with a KOOL cartridge has died more dramatically than when using an UNKOOL cartridge. The animals, they just..KNOW!

someone who thinks they need a 338 win mag for deer and tells jokes too...my hunting rifle doesn't need to knock down trees to kill a deer, and i don't need that much jerky anyways...If liberatchy ever owned a gun it would be this one.

Just a minute... a post in a thread about "cool", by a gunnut with the name "freezer filler", including a pic that contains a Bic™ lighter (contrarily, obviously not "cool", in the literal sense.) There has to be some deep symbolism here. As the rifle has been judged "not cool", it must be somehow connected to the lighter... Oh, never mind...

The GE Minigun in 308 must be unkool? I think not.
I may have some overqualified calibers, but my freezers are full and I only ever need one shot.....I see Steyr elected to provide you with two clips?....What sort of rifleman needs a rifle with two clips? Perhaps a Karaoke microphone and a set of spurs would add nicely to the wannabe theme?
Your rifle with its completely over sized stock and that tiny protrusion of a barrel must appeal to the Liberache in you. I think you should paint it like a rainbow, cover it in rhinestones, and take it to your annual parade.
