No. DN and HK had that dealt with by the time they got to the 33mm rounds. The program was expensive and with the fall of the wall the program ended. The Bundeswehr did a large scale test, then it all went away.I also believe the rifle failed because of chamber cookoffs with the caseless ammo and the complexity of the design caused it to be very expensive to mass produce.
