After doing tons of reading and most people saying they rarely if ever clean their .22 barrels, I have a question.

Does anyone else notice that even after a few hundred rounds a little lip or mountain of carbon begins to build up around the crown? Are you supposed to just leave it sitting there? Since the crown is crucial to accuracy, is this carbon deposit fine as long as you don't mess it up since it should be even all the way around?

Just curious what others think of this.

If the crown is good then the fouling should build up fairly evenly around it, therefore keeping the gas escape consistent. I scrub mine clean when i clean the barrels, every thou or so. If accuracy is failing, clean the crown and the bore.
