I have received my kit.

I'm not pleased with the parts kit.

It is very hard to match any of the wood to have a perfect looking rifle.

We are three to split this kit, I'm the only one who say the kit, my two other friends didn't see the kit yet, I had problem to make or match one kit, so the wood would look the same.
I still have problem to match a pistol grip, the wood don't really look the same. I'm affraid of my friends reactions next sunday ... !!!

I have informed them about this and they told me if I am not happy with the kit, simply return it. I have paid 150$ to ship this box + taxe, I am not going to pay another 150$ to ship it back.

They told me :

"Before we shipped your kit we went through the other kits and made sure the furniture you received was a close match. Not perfect but close. None of the furniture in these kits is a perfect match."

But if you look at the picture they have on they web site, they all match ... !!!

Just imagine the other kits .... !!!

The only reason why we bought this kit is to have a nice looking wood furniture on these nice VZ-58. Now only one will look almost nice and the other two will look all mixed-up.

What you guys think ... ?

Thanks

Gunner

P.S. I don't want to start a war like with Marstar a while ago but just want to inform you guys about this.

The pistol grip as a light brown, the bottom hand guard as a medium dark brown and the top hand guard and the buttstock as a kind of dark brown.

dark brown? dont blame you for not being happy.

This is a project using 30+ year old wood.
Clean as suggested and then mix and match woods stains until you get
the uniform color you desire on all pieces.

you do realize that the wood is actually unfinished don't you?

Clean the gunk off and oil or stain them up to finish them...
i'd do that.
then you could sell off what you won't uses and make a good chunk of your money back. all in all looks like a good deal

Out of curiousity, did you get the No 1 quality kit or the No 4 quality kit? I knoticed a $400 price gap between them, so that would explain the difference in quality from the picture.
