This is just a little education post for you guys. Some of you may even find this interesting. I may even post this in the hunting rifle section as well. The Czech Lion is a national mark coat of arms that appear on all Czech made firearms. Usually, the year the gun was made follows after, or sometimes before, the Czech Lion. CZUB, CSA, and Brno firearms will all have this mark. The Czech Lion will appear to be a boxed in X. It should appear on the receiver or barrel or both. The two digit number after the Czech Lion is the year the gun was made. I'll post some examples.

For those who don't know what the Czech Lion looks like

The Czech Lion on the receiver of a CSA .223 Vz 58. The 13 after the Lion means the gun was made in 2013

CZ 550 with the Czech Lion on both the barrel and receiver of the firearm. Picture is blurry, but was made in 2012
Even a CZ 858, which was built on old stock surplus parts, will have the Czech Lion on it with the year it was officially assembled. My CZ 858 had the Czech Lion on both the barrel and receiver. The one on the barrel was hidden behind the lower handguard with an 08 for being assembled in 2008.
If you're wondering why your CZ-USA shotgun doesn't have a Czech Lion on it, its because the gun was never made in Czech Republic.
There you have it, just a little education on Czech made firearms. Hope you found this interesting.
