The do all bullet for the Ruger 375

What's the lightest you can go in .375? I'm thinking plains game africa is in my future and I would like the 375 but I also can't stand a rifle sleeping in the safe so I was wondering about something light for deer here in Sask.

Thoughts, comments, experience?

Lots of cast bullets avail. with gas checks, so velocities over 2200fps or so, save money too.

That doesn't look like a 375 RUGER case to me!

My father and I have done very well with 300gr Gameking over the years in 375 H&H. Pretty flat shooting, good penetration, and they do hold together well.

I picked up a box of 270gr and 300gr Hornday Sp. I'll just have to find the magic load for them out to 300 yards. Hornady bullets have been really good in other chamberings in the past.

Have a look at the 225 TSX. This would be a fantastic plains game load and would be more than enough for anything here in NA as well. Should be able to get 2900+ easily out of the Ruger case...I'll be 'field testing' them this fall.

There's a 225 gr TSX, but you'll find that it doesn't shoot any flatter than a 270 at longer range.

Speer makes a 235gr SP that was designed for deer sized game. I'd give them a spin. A lot less costly than TSXs.
