The Downside of bullpup rifles.(one of them)

I've had a Kaboom on an AR15 before (bad ammo). I didn't look as bad as that guy, but I did get itty bitty fragments of gun (mag release) and magazine imbedded in my face and hands. Sh*t happens, wear your safety gear habitually.

Just my two cents but if a gun I'm shooting explodes, I want it as far away from my face as possible.

That's why I shoot all my guns like Libyan rebels :p

It's looking like ammo is the majority of malfunctions, I don't think I'd be confident enough to use anything but factory for FA and use the reloads for semi.

I don't think it matters if it's FA or SA; if you screw up the load you're gonna be pooched regardless. And we don't know that it was the necessarily the ammunition, since this was a modified FS2000 after all...

Wouldn't be surprising if the problem was cause it was trying to mimic the F2000 while being the civilian counterpart, I'd just imagine that detecting a squib-load on FA would require sharp reflexes (in general, not pertaining to OP's video).

Interesting update on his injuries (hand was apparently not affected):

Yeah I'm OK, thanks for asking. I had some powder burn on my right eye that made my vision a little foggy for a couple days and some pain on the eyeball itself. Some swelling around the area and a small cut that left a little scar to remember the event by.

I feel very fortunate. I took the brunt of the blast just about an inch below my right eye. The blast was strong enough that it blew the left lens of my eye pro about 10 feet downrange.

So, important reminder: don't scrimp on safety!

You can only shoot like that if you have a tactical beard.
That stance get's him another 100yds of effective range.
How does he keep his shoes so clean during a firefight?
He would definitely be safe if his AK were to explode. No eye protection needed, might lose a finger or two but should be fine.

Anyone who complains that bullpups have terrible ergonomics and awkward mag changes clearly doesn't know what proper training is. Same thing when switching from platform to platform not just bullpups. Imagine someone shooting only an SKS(me)his whole life and then getting the C7 thrown at him. Same principle, you train, and you adapt.

You're a prime example of ignorance. You admit you've never shot a bullpup, and clearly have little training/experience on any system. Yet you appear to be making an absolute statement. No one said training was the issue. The problem with bullpups is that by design, the methods used are slower and less efficient than those used on conventional designs. In addition, some options aren't possible, like adjusting the stock to fit shorter shooters or those with armour/heavy clothing, or transitioning shoulders.

You're entitled to your opinion, but the shoulders thing doesn't fly for me.

I made a reference to when I began learning the C7/AR15 when I joined the forces years ago. At that point in my life that was my experience. And it's quite immature of you to belittle me and accuse me of never using a bullpup in my life when just this summer, my local gun shop Jo-Brooks let me test a Tavor for close to a month. I stand by my statement that training is always the issue, everything is muscle memory. Shoot a bullpup for 2 years without handling another platform and it will become second nature. And to accuse me of not having "any" experience with other platforms shows how much you believe in your absolutance on this forum.
