The Dreaded SKS "Limp" Bayonet

Recently got a beautiful 1950 Tula SKS...
and I feel the need to mention, it's my first SKS.

Decided it would look better with the bayonet reassembled and, after a few hours of hacksawing a nice blade groove into the tactical stock, slid the bayonet on...

Turns out I should have done my research...
The bayonet droops, and after a little bit of reading, found out that mine was not the only SKS bayonet out there in need of some serious "erecting"...

So, I've learnt the hard way that if you have an early russian SKS with nice "straight" ears on your lug, you cant really interchange with say...a Yugoslavian Bayo, as I recently attempted, because many of the other ones have sloppily made 'angled' ears, and thus, create the "droopy" bayonet problem.

I was wondering if anyone out there would be possibly interested in parting with a early russian SKS blade bayonet tang - I obviously already have the blade and spring....

Just need to get some serious "######" into my boy here, he can't go out to the range like that! The other SKSs' will make fun of him!
 
Pic's would be nice. Also it sounds like either the bayonet is installed backwards or the locking part is not ingauged properly. Start watching this video from the 2:33 mark to see what I meen.

Now, maybe I'm a complete moron, mhowarth, but I don't know how I could possibly turn this bayonet 180 degrees and reinstall it...seems like it only really goes one way.

As well, Hical, sent you an email - might also be interested in one of those threaded AK Adapters ... speaking of which, is that the adapter you see online when guys post pics of their SKS with a muzzle brake and bayonet fixed?

I mean, I did come across a US forum for SKSs' that talked 'ad nauseam' about how this is a common problem when interchanging SKS parts. I can't believe that there's a whole whackload of Americans that are as dumb as I am, and can't seem to figure out how to change a bayo 180 degrees.
But, I have been wrong ( and dumb ) before....

Your bayonet is not upside down, but yes its very easy to spin the blade 180 degrees. You have the droop. Personally, I would remove the bayonet if you have a Tapco stock.

I AM a F**** moron...
For some reason, I misread, and I thought you meant the tang itself...
because that's where the problem is - sorry...
Anyway, I did spin the blade 180 and it didn't help - So Im back to square 1.

Although I'm not the biggest "tactical" style guy, I still like having the bayonet on it.

In any case, guess Im just going to have to keep up the search for an early 50's russo bayonet -
Although, I did read in a forum that you can sand down the bayonet tang's grips to get it to fit...and although SKS bayonets are a dime a dozen, I'd hate to think of trashing a historical item, like a Yugoslavian bayonet from the cold war, just to get it to fit.

... sorry I wasn't a little more specific in my reply.

It's interesting that spinning the blade 180 degrees didnt do it for you.

I had my bayo off for a while and when I re-installed it put it in backwards and it was droopy, then I spun it and it went back like new.

Good luck - it's got to be something simple if the metal hasn't been bent or deformed.

It is actually, in fact, the unfortunate reality that in late 52', they did change the ears, and it causes later model bayonets to 'droop' on the older versions -
