The elusive 1945 svt40, Who owns it?

I had one,now is somewhere in canada. I should have kept it but....

Had one, since passed on to another CGN'er. I won't out him on here, as I doubt he wants people PM'ing him every few months asking to buy it.

Was a nice mix of early and late parts. Had the fatter stock with the cross bolt-reinforce built in, and a pristine bore.

Here it is with my '43 up top, '45 on bottom.

At the end of the day, it's the '5' in the date which makes it rare. Nothing overly different from any other SVT.

Shop owners tend to have nice collections......unfortunatly. Although I managed to score a rare piece in the same scenario as the OP.

Well, as I can see those are the same rifles circulate between collectors. Tyler's 1945 in ON, svt1940's one is also in ON. There are two more as I have only four serials of 1945 recorded. And for these 4 confirmed I heard probably 10 "true" stories about another one 1945, however they all turned out to be false.

Thats where all the rare ones go, in the vault where the collectors never get a chance to buy the real gems, to bad someone made a big mistake ,guess they were looking for a job after that.

After buying my SVT 40 I found that it has a 1945 stock on it. I've been told by people that there are less then 10 known examples of a 1945 stock. I don't know how accurate that is, but after reading through this thread it sounds like it could be fairly resonable.
